For my thirteenth birthday party, I decided to have a dinner party. I made invitations out of neon paper. I made a menu type booklet. At the top I put MARYS RESTURAUNT. Then I drew a picture
of a goblet or glass full of grape juice to make it look like fancy wine. I drew a few more decorations on the cover. Then I started working on the inside. I wrote, Dear SO n So. You are
reserved for dinner and a party at MARY'S RESTURAUNT. Come for dinner, desert, and then later stay for a party. MARYS RESTURAUNT, is held at ADDRESS, and your dinner reservation is for TIME,
then stay until the next day for a sleepover at Mary's home. You can respond at PHONE NUMBER, if you have to cancel your reservation. I then finished the menu, and sent them to the guests. I
bought fancy red table cloths, (PLastic) You can buy them at stores. Then I bought colorful vases at the dollar store. I bought cheap flowers from grocery stores, and then used those together
as center pieces for the tables. I setup tables in a big part of my house. Then I decorated the tables with table cloths, and the center pieces. I setup four chairs at each table. I used
champaing, or goblet like glasses that were made of plastic, that I bought from Kmart, and decided that those looked like fancy glasses they'd use at a fancy resturaunt. I used regular glass
plates, silverware, and etc. Then I folded up napkins with the silverware tucked inside.
To decorate the rest of the room I setup plants around the room like in a real resturaunt, we also put up a stand, and my dad dressed up like a man at a resturaunt, when each of the guests came in one by one, he checked them on the list, like the people at resturaunts do. All the guests sat down, and so did I. We were all together in the room but each group of us was sitting at a different table. We had soft resturaunt music, and my family, like my brother, and my mom, went around being the waiter and waitress. I made real menus before the guests came, and listed everything we had. We had mixed vegetables, corn on the cob, chicken, soup, salad, and mashed potatoes. Then for desert we had ice cream and cake. My mother, father, and brother, and sisters came around and we all sang happy birthday, like where they sometimes do that in resturaunts. After eating we started the real fun. We changed into our pajamas and headed down to the living room. We had snacks and watched 13 Going on 30. SO it was like a night out at the movies. Then we went up to my room, we had a dancethon, whoever could stay dancing to the music the longest won a prize. Then we had quiet time. I made a paper for each girl saying Dinner Party, then they had to make as many words as they could, whoever had the most won a prize. The last game was where we went down to the kitchen. We had a fruit bowl, full of fruit. There was a coin in three out of six of the pieces of fruit. whoever found the quarter one the grand prize, whoever found the dime one the second prize, and whoever found the nickel one the last prize. The catch was that each girl only got one minute, which was timed by my mom, and they had to wear a blind fold, but the worse part was they had to use there mouth. No hands aloud. At the end of the night, we played a few more fun small games and went to sleep. The next day my mom made us pancakes, we got to use decorative food coloring to decorate our pancakes. GOODY BAGS- I bought plain beige and pink, paper bags, that had handles on them, then I put a candy bar in each one. I also put a few candies in each one, a lip stick, a sheet of stickers, and the last thing I put inside, was a certificate. A certificate for each girl so that they could come back to MARYS RESTURAUNT, when ever they wanted for free. Then all of the guests went home. And during the dinner party, we also opened gifts. I had a blast!
