7 Yr. Old Sleepover Every year we have our parties out. (chuckie cheese, bowling, etc.) This year, my daughter wanted a sleepover, so I decided to give it a shot. I sent out the invites
a couple weeks before. Just a girly theme. I took her to the party store to pick out whatever theme she wanted and got all the plates and stuff to match. Guests arrived at 6 p.m. Kept the
list on the small side since the guests were all around 7 years old. 6 girls total(including birthday girl). Started with pizza, then sang happy birthday and had the cake, (sleepover cake
from the Family Fun magazine, so adorable, my daughter loved it !!!!) Moved right into craft time. I bought wooden hearts and butterflies from Michael's crafts for only $1 each. They have the
hook so they can hang it in their bedroom for their robe or whatever. I used my own paints (I do ceramics), but you can get these paints on sale at ACMoore crafts for $.25 each. I used paper
plates and squeezed a little of each color that I thought they would like on the plates. They painted their hearts or butterflies and they loved it. This took them awhile and I put on some
cd's like Ashlee Simpson and Kelly Clarkson. They were all singing. It was cute. All eating and painting was done in the kitchen. As each girl was finished they went into the dining room
where I had a folding table set up. I bought a big box of crayons and made copies of coloring book pages from a princess coloring book and had these set up on this table. I put some of my
daughter's favorite snacks on this table as well. As they finished painting they were each given a white tshirt to decorate themselves with fabric markers. On the sleeve, I wrote my daugher's
name and the date so they would have a little reminder. When they were finished, they all put on their newly made shirts over their pj's. (I had them come in their pj's) Once everyone was
done, we moved into the games. I got a lot of great game ideas from this site. Musical pillows, pin the pillow on the bed, pass the balloon, etc. Each winner was given a prize and when we did
pass the balloon, they were each given a prize as they got out. They liked that, since they were disappointed when they got out. After the games, they settled down in their sleeping bags for
their first movie. I made 3 big bowls of popcorn and they sat on the floor and watched the movie. After that, they all settled down for the "Incredibles". I had a bunch of movies to
pick from and that was the choice since it had just come out that week. I gave them all mini-flashlights which I got at the dollar store, so when the lights went out, they had their own
personal nite-lite. The movie started at 10:30 and by the time it was over, they were all asleep. I couldn't believe it!! My girlfriend stayed over and helped me out with everything. (try to
convince a friend, what a huge help) We had chocalate chip pancakes and sausage for breakfast. Each girl went home with a cute little bag (dollar store). In each bag I put a bottle of nail
polish, a scrunchie and their prizes that they won, their flashlight and they also took home the painted woooden piece and their nightshirt. They all had a great time as did I. They were just
so good. I am sure that my daughter will always remember her first sleepover. I know I will!!
