THE ULTAMITE SLUMBER-HAWAIIAN PARTY AGE 10- Since the birthday girl (this is for girls) is turning 10, it has to be all about big, all about special, all about her TURNING TEN! Here are my
ideas from my party that I'm having:
BEFORE THE GUESTS COME:Decorations: Streamers and balloons work well, pick two theme colors, I
picked green and purple. Make sure you have the movie in a place where there is lots of couch room and you're not afraid to get popcorn all over the place because kids spill lots of popcorn.
Make sure you have matresses for the kids to put their sleeping bags on, because the floor hurts, even carpeted floor. MAKING RULES: You might think, "Oh, they'll be little angels,
they're only ten. We won't need rules." Trust me on this one you WILL need rules. A bunch of ten-year-olds, all pumped up from cake and other junk food? Oh, yeah, you'll need rules. Make
sure they know where not to go and what not to do and especially that raiding the fridge at night is not okay. Enough of that. INVITATIONS: If you have kid pix, that's a great place to make
invitations. Also I have discovered a place called iprint.com.Also, ask them to bring any Sorry of Life board game copies they have. You'll see why l8er. Have fun creating! GUEST LIST: Ten to
fifteen girls who get along really well works. WHEN THE GUESTS ARE THERE: Note: this is for people with pools(if you don't have one you'd better go to a local work out place or public pool)
Put out lots of munchies by the pool such as cheetos, popcorn, fruit, and otter pops. You should refrain from chex mix, because of little crumbs getting in the pool. You should get a lot of
pool toys before the party. Also, you can give them leis as a bonus and decorate the party place with Hawaiian stuff. Don't too many organized games in the pool, it won't work. AFTER
SWIMMING:For pizza, get pepperoni and cheese. You probably have your own cake recipe. I use brownies instead, and they're always a big hit. Then it's time for THE ULTAMITE SORRY/LIFE
CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!! These are two of my favorite games, and lots of people have them. That's why you have to ask them to bring Sorry or Life. You can substitute some other board game, too.
So! Divide them into four groups of three or so, and let two groups play Sorry and two Life. After the first game is over the person who came in last in each group is out and they become
judges. Next, the eight that are still in each play against the other three playing their game to determine the champion, then all the groups switch. Not making sense? Let me use numbers: For
LIFE: 3 and 3 play, #3 is out, now it's 4 playing each other. Then they go play SORRY. MOVIE: Make popcorn. Here are some that work: Cheaper By the Dozen, Freaky Friday, The Lizzie McGuire
Movie, A Cinderella Story, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, stuff like that. This part's easy. THE MORNING: Make waffles or french toast instead of pancakes. Play classics like
hide-and-seek and scratch murderer until their parents come. HAVE FUN!
