For my 13th birthday party, me and my best friend decided to have it together, since our birthdays are so close. This party took a lot of planning and organization. Our theme was beach, and
our colors were pink and green. (Pink being my favorite color, and green being hers) NOTE: We made sure that we used faded pink and green colors, to go with the beach theme.
Invitatons: For our invitations, we made scrolls in a bottle. We bought bottles at Michael's for $1 each. We also bought sand, and smalls decorative shells. We filled each bottle with sand, put the shells in, and wrapped old looking green and pink ribbons around the top of the bottle. Then we made the actual invitations by simply typing up the info on microsoft word in a casual looking font. After printing up all of the invites, we cut them so they would be small enough to put in the bottle. We then soaked them in water with instant coffee, to give them the old, washed up look. Then, we burned the edges using matches. we rolled them up and tied them. We put them in the bottles, and closed them with corks. The Invitations looked GREAT! Our friends all loved them. The total cost for the invitations was about $25. Decorations: Not very much of the party was at our houses, so there were none, except for the table. On the table, we put a beige tablecloth (similar to the color of sand). And we then put pink plates and cups, with green forks and napkins. We also put small sea shells all over the table. As a center piece, we used bamboo. Cake: We had a custom made cake (which was a bit more expensive, $25) The cake had a beach theme, but it was not childish. We had them put water" and fake palm trees on the cake" It had Happy Birthday ------ and ----- written on it in green and pink. It was gorgeous! Favors: We spent a reasonable amount of money on the favors ($115) We bought green and pink chinese takeout boxes put sand in them and put more tiny seashells. We filled them with: Nail polish Victoria's Secret lip gloss hoop earings and bath and body works lotion. Activities: All of the girls met at my house for pizza and cake. We hung out for about 2 hours and then we left for the mall. We all got dropped off at the mall by my parents and had a scavanger hunt. Me and my friend both decided to do it just for fun as an excuse to act like a little kid again. We decided to have most of the things be embarassing because my friends all enjoyed that. Ex. Take a picture in front of libby lu Make a build a bear in build a bear workshop Take a picture with a hot guy ect... We had two teams... we chose the teams by giving each person a hersheys chocolate bar. Under the flap we put either a pink or green sticker. If they got pink they were on my team. Green on hers. Each team recieved $30 we were not aloud to tell them where everything was. The prizes were: One person received an itunes gift card the other two people on the team each got one of the buildabears. After the scavanger hunt we just hung out at the mall for a while. Afterwards we went to the movies to see The Strangers (R). My parents had to call all of the girls parents before since it was an R rated movie to make sure they can go. After the movie we went to Buca Di Beppo for dinner. After we were done with dinner we all piled into the cars to ride to my friends GIANT 3 story cabin. The ride there was fun too because the parents let us blast the music. When we got there we roasted s'mores. Later we played ghosts in the graveyard (using the fog machine that we had rented) We watched scary movies the rest of the night and went to sleep around 5 am. when we woke up we ate chocolate chip pancakes and bacon for breakfast and then we just hung out at the cabin and went hiking. We left at around 1 pm. My parents dropped all of the girls off at their houses. The party was awesome! The total cost for the party was moderate about $650. Our budget WAS $500 although we did go over."
