Mother/Daughter Slumber Party I made invitations for a mother daughter slumber party and sent them to my daughters closest friends and their mothers. My daughters are Ashley-8 years and
Aly-5 years. I made the invitations on the computer and the theme was "Party with your Mom until Dawn."
I served dinner, which consisted of a taco salad bar, nachos and drinks. Everyone was asked to bring their favorite junk food to share. We played twister, had a scavenger hunt, played a name game, a bubble gum game, danced and watched the movie "Freaky Friday" with Jodi Foster-the perfect mother/daughter movie! We had 11 girls and 8 moms-only four brave moms spent the night, including my own. The next morning for breakfast I served donuts to the girls, and the ice cream sandwiches we forgot about-hey it's not everyday that they eat ice cream for breakfast! I invited the mom's that didn't spend the night back over for breakfast and we had breakfast burritos (filled with eggs, red bell peppers and onions), fruit, coffee and juice. As for my husband....I kindly kicked him out of the house for the night and he spent the night with his Mommy & Daddy! Friday night is a good night for this party-as I guarantee you will not get a lot of sleep! The name game: Write a name on a piece of paper (I used Disney characters) and tape it to your guests back. Everyone has a different name. They have to ask questions that can only be answered with a yes or no. Example: Am I a boy or a girl, animal or human...dead or alive...and then they try and guess who they are. They can only ask each person 2 questions and then have to move on to another person until they guess right. Then they remove their name and place it on the front of the shirt. This is a good game to use to get people to mingle. We use it at New Years parties with adults, using celebrity names-I always make one person in the crowd my husband or another guest-that is always a fun one! Bubble gum game: Everyone gets a cake size paper plate. Hand each guest a stick of bubble gum (I used Bazooka) and ask them to unwrap it and place it in the middle of the plate. I then put whipped cream on everyone's plate. Tell them on the count of three they have to get the gum, chew it and blow a bubble, using only their mouth! First one with a bubble wins-this is hilarious, because they can't blow a bubble, as the gum becomes very mushy-but don't tell them! I suggest you do this one outdoors!
