SNOW WHITE
My daughters are almost 2 years apart, to the day. When they were turning 2&4, my oldest daughter decided that she and her sister (who was happy with any theme at the time) would like to have a Snow White party. The problem was that at the time, there were no exclusive Snow White party products. I had to get creative and here is what I did: I thought about the uniqueness of Snow White's primary colored dress as far as being a Disney Princess, so I decided to create a children's table that looked like Snow Whites dress. Using two saw horses and an old door, I covered the table in a yellow plastic table cloth. On top of that, I folded a royal blue plastic table cloth to fit exactly the top of the table and secured it with tape. The last piece of the table cloth was a "puff" which was supposed to resemble the "puff" on the top of Snow Whites sleeve. I made a continuous light blue piece of table cloth approximately 5-6 inches wide and hot glued one side to the top of the table and the bottom directly under it creating a puffy tube around the edge of the table. Lastly, I cut red strips of table cloth approx. 2X5 and glued the strips equidistant on top of the light blue puff around the table. The table cloth looked like Snow Whites dress! To make things look sharp, I used solid yellow plates and utensils to set the table. Next to the table, I created a huge tree out of two large boxes on top of eachother and wrapped brown shipping paper around the "trunk" in a spiral fashion crunching each piece for texture. My husband and I connected branches made out of the same paper to the tree trunk and then brought them out under our awning and securing them there, above the party table. I ordered large plastic apples from Oriental Trading company, filled them with treats and candy & secured the apples to the branches so they were hanging! Each child, with the aid of their parents got to "pick" an apple off the tree at the end of the party! We had the traditional hot dog lunch, apple fruit salad, a cake with Snow White and the Seven Drawfs figurines as decorations. We had the Disney Princess music playing throughout the party. Although simple, the primary colors in addition to the tree really looked sharp and generated a lot of excitement and compliments!
