For my daughter's 12th birthday we wanted to do something special and more grown up".  We decided on a spa theme.  First we decided the colors.  We chose hot pink and green.  For invitations we found some cards with a teenage girl on them (Walmart)and added brads and jewels to them to give them a little sparkle. We found a huge hot pink daisy and put it in a vase on the table. We used a hot pink tablecloth as well. Surrounding the daisy we put green votive candles in glass votive holders. We also had several candles lit around the room. All of the tableware was green. I found green plastic serving plates since the girls were going to use them throughout.  I had embroidered on white towels each girl's name in pink.  Below that I used my daughter's name to create the name of her spa and found the same hot pink daisy to use in her logo and had that embroidered as well. Inside the towel I used a celaphane bag with pink and green flowers on it and filled it with the things for the party.  I had a hot pink loofa a bar of soap from "Bath and Body" (I had purchased these earlier when they had a sale for $1 each) a hair band to hold back their hair fingernail polish fingernail decals and sample make up and lip glosses. I hired a teenage girl who works doing pedicures to come into our home and do pedicures on all of the girls. I made a simple mask out of ground oatmeal and honey and gave the girls facials.  I even put sliced cucumbers on thier eyes. My mom made a lemon olive oil and sugar scrub and gave the girls simple hand massages. They were listening to the music smelling the candles having their feet hands and faces worked on and were very relaxed and mellow. For food we wanted to follow the spa theme and served veggies and dip healthy chips a fruit platter and cheese and crackers. I made smoothies out of fruit and yogurt in several flavors for the drinks.  For the "cake" I made cheesecake cups out of a fresh cheescake recipe:  two packages cream cheese one package non dairy whipped topping and powdered sugar to taste. For the crust I used a simple cookie recipe and cooked it into muffin cups. After they had cooled I filled them with the cheesecake filling.  I had fresh strawberry topping (crushed strawberries and sugar)to put on if they chose to.  The girls could eat as they were waiting for their turn or while they were waiting for the other ones to finish up. After all of the pampering was done the girls painted their own fingernails and applied the decals. They put on the simple make up and lip gloss. We took a picture of each of the girls with my daughter and used them later as their thank you cards. The girls left our home relaxed pampered and beautiful with a new appreciation for the good things in life!  "
