For my daughter's 6th birthday we decided to have a Spa party. Her birthday is in June so we decided to have it in the backyard.  We were lucky because the weather was wonderful. For invitations I made a purse out of cardstock and got scrapbook paper.  The paper went along the top to look like the flap" of the purse. Then I glued a rhinestone for the button.  The handle was a string. I made sure to hand deliver them.  I wrote " You are invited to Sydney's Day Spa and Salon".  I wrote the appointment time and date. I asked the parents to call to confirm their appt instead of RSVP. I also included BYOB -which stood for bring your own brush. On the day of the party I made a table at our back gate. I sat there as I was the receptionist. On the table I had a cash register phone and other items. When they arrived I asked if they had an appointment. They took off their shoes on put on flip flops which I bought for a dollar the last time I got a pedicure.  They each held a sign "Before" and I took a picture. I told them to pick a book or magazine and then go soak their feet. I used our kiddie pool and filled it with warm water and soap.  They sat around the pool looking at books soaking while all the kids arrived.  When they all got their we made make up bags out of canvas bags that I got at a craft store.  I got sticky foamies that they just would peel and stick. It was simple and not messy. That was used as their loot bags to hold all their goodies.  After we played "Pass the Polish"  Each girl had a bottle of nailpolish. When the music played we passed it around. When the music stopped the bottle they held was the colour they used to paint one toenail. I liked this game because nobody was "out" and we all finished at the same time. When they were done they had 10 toes painted different colours.  I made sure to get wild and crazy colours. Then we did our make over stations:  I had 4 stations Hair Manicures Make up and necklaces I had one helper at each station as well as one group leader that stayed with the group as they moved around the backyard.  I bought most of my supplies at the dollar store. At the hair station the kids could pick some accessories to go in their hair.  We had elastics clips wigs etc. We had colour spray that would wash out glitter etc. They had really cute hair styles! Manicures - they each would get cream on their hands.  We would file their nails and then they would pick any colour they would like.  MAke up station- We applied cream first Then foundation blush eye shadow lipstick and body glitter. I also bought stick on earings for the girls Candy Necklaces were the last station. I bought candy with holes and the kids made their own necklaces on string. After the kids did all four stations we went into the basement where we had our fashion show.  The children could pick any dresses hats shoes crowns etc.  I made a runway and we played music.  We introduced each girl as they walked out and the adults all cheered.  At the end we took a group picture. Before having cake we played " Put the lipstick on the Daddy" This is like pin the tail on the donkey. The girls had to put lipstick on my husband with a blindfold on. He looked really funny by the end. The girls thought it was a blast.  I served mini bagels veggies and drinks as well as chips etc. Little fancy food for the spa. The party ended with cake. For the lootbags I used dollar store stuff.  Nailpolish soap make up hair stuff candy etc.   It was an amazing party! All the kids said it was so much fun.  I would highly recommend it to any child who likes to play dress up!  "
