My daughter is having her 9th birthday so to celebrate we are having a salon party for her. All the girls are being dropped off at a local nail salon. I know this may seem expensive, but it is
definitely worth looking into...each girl only cost me about $5 each. To me, it was worth not asking other moms to have to help me nor did I have to redecorate my house for the salon effect
or buy nail supplies. The girls loved being professionly pampered! Afterwards, we returned to my house and made homemade facials. Depending upon their skin types, we used bananas, honey,
apples, etc. I got some great recipes off a website for it. The girls loved mixing their own facial recipes and smearing it on their face! I got them each a hair band to hold their hair back
as they laid on my cozy attic floor listening to soothing music, smelling scented candles, wearing cucumbers over their eyes, and giggling at themselves in the darkened room. After that, we
made our own lip balm. It was super easy and very inexpensive as it was just a combination of shortening and powered drink mix. I bought decorative small containers, but you could even buy
empty tea candles at the dollar store or use 35mm film containers. I had them decorate their containers with markers and stickers. I also had them each name their lip balm and kiss a piece of
paper to see who had the best name and the best pucker. This got a lot of laughs. As prizes, I gave away some inexpensive dollar store beauty items. Afterward, I had cute cupcakes and ice
cream for the girls. Before they were sent home, they were each given a gift bag with coloful tissue paper filled with nail kit items (nail clippers, file, tweezers, scissors, and cuticle
remover)that I bought at the dollar store for a $1 a set. I also put in little candy lipsticks and necklaces because every kid loves candy! It was a great party for under $100!My older
daugher now wants one.
