For my daughters 7th birthday she wanted a spa party. So I thought sure I can do a house spa party. First I printed up invitations with 2 cucumbers on the front (where her eyes
would go) and it read "You have an appointment" at Kelsey's SPAcalular Birthday Party. On the inside what a big picture of her all "dolled" up (so closed the
cucumbers looked like her eyes.) and it had the detail of the party and stated treatments included: manicure, facial, make up and hair design and asked the guests to wear their most comfy
pj's.
We made a light up sign that read "Kelsey Girl Spa" and put it in our front window. I ordered slippers for all the guest's (ebay) and when they arrived they put them on. I had stations set up and recruted some mom's for help. Facials - the girls were given headbands to pull back their hair. Tinted cool whip was applied to their face and cucumbers were placed on their eyes and then their picture was taken. They had their nails polished in bright colors and decals put on. As the girls were getting their treatments, I passed out water bottles with labels that we made up on them that read "Kelsey Girl Spa" water. I bought each girl a brush and mirror ($1.00 at dollar tree) and bought neon colored hair ponytails (oriental trading). They had their hair brushed, pulled up in side ponytails and then we beaded strands of their hair. Makeup I ordered Avon samples of lipstick (they each got their own to take home) and glittery eyeshadow. For a craft they stuck rhinstones on lusite double picture frames. I also took their picture once all "dolled up". I decorated the tables with scattered rose petals and mini bathtub's for the centerpieces. For lunch, trying to stick will finger food type: I served fruit, pizza bagels, I cut sandwiches out with flower shaped cookie cutters (the big hit was peanutbutter and sprinkle sandwiches), mini hot dogs and popcorn chicken. The girls drank punch out of plastic fluted glasses. For the parents I served a yogurt parfait with vanilla yogart, fruit and granola. While girls were eating I quickly printed out the before and after pictures and placed in the frames for each to take home. As we waited for parents to come pickup their child, we played freeze dance with the girls. For favors (in addition to the picture frames, lipstick, headband, slippers, neon hair ponytail, hairbrush and comb) I bought adorable makeup bags (dollar tree)for the girls to put everything in, a cute little backpack clip girl doll, some bubble bath confetti and a candy compact. We had 25 girls at this party, it was crazy and it was alot of work but the girls had a blast and are still talking about it. I took alot of ideas from this site and combined them with my own. The parents were super impressed and all the girls want the same party for their next party. (even the moms ; ) )
