For my daughter's 9th birthday she wanted to go to the spa.  However when I told her she would only be able to invite 5 friends, that was out of the question.  So we made a spa at our house.  Invitations:  For the invitation I printed a picture of a cartoon girl in a robe and a towel on her head on the side of a 8 x 11 piece of cardstock. Then I used a hole punch to punch two holes at her waist and used fuzzy ribbon to tie around the robe. It looked really cute to add that little detail but you could do without it. So the girl took up the side of the page, then the invitation was printed down the center. It said come to Ashley's Relaxation Spa for a day of pampering and makeovers!  Then Date Time and Place.   The Decorations and Spa Preparation: We decorated with lavender and sea green balloons.  We put white table cloths on all of the tables for the spa treatments.  I bought several yards of pastel netting from walmart and we draped it around the windows and tied big bows with it on chairs. We put fake flower bouquets (walmart) and candles on every table and around the room. We needed several areas for the spa. A pedicure spot, manicure area, relaxation room, make-up and hair. For the relaxation room we used my formal living room. We put out bottle water and teen magazines for the girls to read while they waited. We had a CD with Enya playing for a relaxing effect. For the pedicures we set up stations around my sectional couch we used large plastic bowls (dollar store, to soak their feet)we placed the bowls on towels around the floor by the couch. We added bath salts to the water.  Then I had a basket full of nail polish for the girls to choose their color.  We also rubbed scented lotion on their feet.  We also had pedicure flip flops that I got from a nail salon for cheap. The manicure station had lotion and smaller bowls(dollar store) to soak their hands.  We had little nail stickers, like jeweled flowers and hearts for the girls to use. I had a friend who is a hairdresser come and do the hair station. She did amazing up do's  for all of the girls. My sister and good friend brought all of their make up, and we printed some faces on card stock so they could give the girls a color analysis".  The faces are just a clip art sized big enough to take up half a page. They smeared some of the colors of eye shadow and lipsticks on the print out so the girls could take them home.  Day of the party: When the girls arrived the were given a robe to put on over their clothes we put a plastic hair net over their head and took "before pictures". Then they put cucumbers on their eyes or mud masks(dollar store) while we waited for everyone to get their pictures done.  Then we took them to their spa.  We had the girls rotate through each station 3 at a time Pedicures: nail file Manicures: nail polish Lotion that they made Make-up; lip gloss and Jeweled bobby pins from the hair station. When they were all done with their treatments and make overs we took off the robes and took "after" pictures. I had made scrapbook pictures ahead of time for each girl with a spot for before and after pictures.  While we were opening presents my husband printed the pictures and stuck them on their page. We served little appetizers like small sandwiches scones and veggies. My daughter wanted a three tiered cake which was way above my  baking skill level. My friend made it with pink frosting and fondant molded like lipsticks nail polish brushes ect. all around it and on the top.  The party was a huge hit. The moms were jealous of their girls spa day!!"
