For her 8th birthday party my daughter wanted a make-over / pamper party but she also loves High School Musical - what to do?? I printed the invitations on white card stock, next to the
wording I printed a picture of Gabriella from HSM and the wording read Do you want to look as pretty as Gabriella? Then come to my party as all the stuff you'll need to look pretty will
be there" and the dates and the rest of the info below it. For decoration I hanged a silver foil curtain in front of the entrance to the entertainment area of our house (where the party
was held) so that the girls could not see what was going on behind it. I bought each girl her own desktop mirror (they were 8 in total) and a make-up bag full of make-up. I had a facial
station a manicure station a hair salon a pedicure and footspa area and then finally a runway for the grand finale. I bought plain white mens t-shirts (XL) and cut it open in the front. I
used orange and burgandy ribbons along the front of the t-shirt and also as belts so that they can fasten it around their waists. When the girls arrived at the party they were all dressed in
their spa-gowns and I put shower caps on their heads so that their hair will be out of the way. Once all of them were dressed we entered the "spa" - I gave them mini-facials by
cleaning their faces with a moist spunge before putting on some babay cream. After that they could go the table where their mirrors and make-up bags were waiting. There were a HSM tablecloth
on the table as well as netting with fairy lights underneath it just to add a bit of whimsy to the setting. After their make-up were done they could either go sit for a pedicure have their
hair done of go for a manicure. The moms who attended were my spa-assistants for the day. We had 2 footspas and different feet products (a scrub and moisturising cream) and when they put
their feet in the spa they each got a fizzball to fizz around their feet while it was in the water. Same went for the manicure where there a different handlotions and scrubs. They all got
their own nailpolish in their make-up bag so these travelled with them from the pedicure to the manicure. At the hairsalon I had my hair crimper (dating back to 80's) a hair straightner
curling iron as well as hair glitter and other bows and clips to make their hair look beautiful. Once all the girls were pretty we practised walking on a runway while the other mommies took
their places around the runway. Each girl had her turn on the runway with my daughter being the last one out so that everyone could see her. For snacks I had various sweet and salty snacks
and the birthday cake was a huge chocolate cake with a picture of Troy and Gabriella on it saying " Megan 8 years old". I did not give extra party favors as they could take home all
the mirrors make-up bags shower caps and the gowns I made for them. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the party was a huge success and I don't know who enjoyed it more - the jealous
mommies who wanted to be pampered too or the spoilt little princesses (ages ranging from 4 years to 11 years old) we had very fun day! Off course there were no boys allowed!"
