For my daughters tenth birthday she wanted a spa party. I knew a trip to the spa would be too much so I did everything myself. I made the invitations using downloaded clip-art with
pictures of nail polish, birthday cakes and a picture of a woman with cucumbers on her eyes, a green mask on her face, her hair in a towel, sitting relaxing in the center of the page.
The envelopes were each sealed with make-up stickers I purchased at the craft store. Aproximately ten girls came to the party which was
from 2:00-6:00. I bought a Sally Hanson salon kit wich included everything for a manicure and pedicure (including 8 nail colors), a jar of avocado mask, and nail art stickers and
such. We added all of our 20 or so bottles of nail polish to the bunch so there was a lot to choose from.
From the dollar store I bought 4 large dish pans, foot soak and foot lotion. We used our largest bathroom so the girls first gathered there first and gave each other pedicures. Next, they moved to the dining room where the table was covered with three layers of decorative plastic and they gave each other manicures. I had help from three of my friends and they gave each girl a facial with the avocado mask and cool slices of cucumber for their eyes while their nails dried. After all of this the girls ate a huge lunch (my daughters request) of fried fish, chicken, macaroni and cheese and colard greens. Instead of a traditional cake my daughter requested a huge brownie cake. (they ate almost all of it!) Oh, I found plates, cups and napkins at the dollar store too with the "spa" theme. It was great! I am most proud of my goody bags. I purchased a large bottle of bath milk and a large bottle of bath/shower gel, made bath salts using epson salt and scented bath oil. Everything was lavender. I went to a craft store and bought 2 ounce bottles for each. My daughter used paint pens to write "Kyndahl's Birthday Spa" what the bottle contained and the date on each bottle. Each girl recieved a goody bag containing the following: 2ounce bottle of bath/shower gel, 2 ounce bottle of bath milk, 2 ounce bottle of bath salt, bath sponge, travel size bottle of lotion, travel pack of tissues, fancy nail file, tic-tacs, small bottle of kids perfume, travel size nail polish remover pads and lip gloss. Everyone had a great time and my daughter was quite pleased. I must say, It was fun watching and listening to the girls having so much fun. The best part, believe it or not, clean up was a breeze!
