We just had the greatest 8 year old Spa Party.
Two weeks prior to the party, we made invitations that were shaped like small compacts. On the outside we wrote the invitee's name and said, you are invited to Morgen's Petite Spa Birthday Party. On the inside we cut out foil in the shape of a mirror and glued it on the back of the invite as it is opened. On Each of the make-up shapes, we wrote info about the party. On the night of the party, the girls arrived in pajamas ready for manicures, pedicures, foot and hand massages and hair do's. The party kicked off when myself and a friend made a grand entrance dressed to the hilt like Ivanna B. Beautiful and ME (DREW CAREY). We had on azure blue eyeshadow, large glitter eyelashes and the works. We came running in worried that we were late for the party. Then we proceeded to do a short skit with our tool box of beauty where we presented the real uses for many items from my husbands workbench i.e. sand paper, large metal file, safety glasses, plyers, paint brushes, etc. It was hilarious. Then the pampering began. There were 17 girls and we divided them in to 4 groups. Each group rotated stations. For pedicures, we had them soak their feet in small tubs using bath fizzies. Then they had their nails painted. The next station was massage. We had a licensed masage therapist come in and bring her table and chair to indulge the girls. After a massage, they had their hair curled, crimped and styled in every way shape and form. Last station was a manicure that began with a brown sugar scrub. They had their nails painted and toped off with a mist of great essential oils. The cakes were a foot with bright toe nail polish and a bottle of nail polish. It was a great party and all of the girls had a wonderful time. They were sent home with their own little spa bag with a bath puff, bath fizzies and nail polish. I have three more daughters who want the same party. Get other moms to help with the stations and this party is a real breeze.
