For my son's fourth birthday (Sept. 29th), we had a "Splish Splash Fish Bash".
We had a heated pool for the kids to swim in and we also had different activities for the children to participate in. We put beach balls that had fish inside them in the pool for decoration. We had a kiddie pool filled with water and fish shaped squirter toys. We also had a "worm ranch" where we took an area in the landscaping and placed edging around it. We then added dirt, worms, and some shiney rocks (treasures) for the kids to dig up. I bought hand shovels for each child. We also bought worms at out local fishing shop to ensure that the children would be able to find them to dig them up. We put them out that morning so they would'nt get too far into the ground. We also had a real pond with koi for the kids to look at. We served goldfish, fish birthday cake, dirt and worms (cruched oreos with gummy worms), blue jello with swedish fish, and other foods. This was a very fun party for the kids, as well as the adults. The children are still talking about digging up worms and playing with them. Just be sure and have some baby wipes and hand sanitizer available for the "worm diggers" to use before serving their food.!!!!
