For my 5 year old daughter's birthday we are having maizypalooza" in the back yard. This is great because you can put pretty much anything in front of "palooza". The "American Heritage Dictionary" says a lollapalooza is: "something outstanding of its kind" but after the Lollapalooza Tour it's usually used as a suffix to indicate an extravaganza of some sort. And that sums my daughter up perfectly.  We are having two huge waterslides in the backyard which will be the main part of the party but the rest of the yard will be set up like a festival. What I loved doing was the invitations. I made "All Access Backyard Passes" and put them in plastic badge covers and put them on a lanyard. They have Maizypalooza 2007 All Access Backyard Pass on the front and the party details on the back. These cost me about 20$ for supplies at Office Depot and about 30 minutes of time printing and cutting out. I am having a snow cone machine cotton candy machine face painting and tattoos. Food will be simple and of course cake and Ice Cream. What is really cool about this party is how special it is going to make my daughter feel. The teens are going to wear tshirts that say SECURITY and will be monitoring the different stations. At the entrance to the backyard I will have someone with a clipboard checking to see who is "on the list". Parents will be sent back to enter through the front door while kids proceed through the back hence the BACKYARD ALL ACCESS PASS. Parents can sit out back but I will have a GREEN ROOM set up with grown up appetizers and drinks (non-alocholic) while the kids have juice boxes and hot dogs out back. Finally the kids will get a tshirt with my daughters name on it as the Headliner and other special acts: the children who attended with the date. Just like a concert tshirt. I will have markers so they can autograph each others shirts. This leaves simply goody bags with just candy since they are keeping the pass and the tshirt. The main cost was the rental of the waterslide but it is important to have people to be SECURITY. I am lucky to have lots of teenagers on my street.  "
