For my son's 6th birthday party, he wanted to do a SpongeBob Squarepants party.
We had the party outside and the weather was beautiful. For decorations, I made a mural of an underwater scene using an turquoise blue tablecloth for the water, green streamers for seaweed, paper fish purchased from the party store, white cut out circles for bubbles, fishnet with shells and crabs and a picture of SpongeBob in the scene. I had a bubble machine that I placed next to the scene. I purchased tissue paper pineapples to use as centerpieces. My son had some SpongeBob stuffed animals I placed next to them. I hung fish off the deck and around the tables. I used the SpongeBob tablecloth for the kids tables and turquoise & yellow for the adults with SpongeBob Confetti sprinkled in the middle. The kids got to use the SpongeBob plates & cups while the adults used turqoise & yellow. I had purchased some lifesavers from a local store and printed the words "Bikini Bottom" on one and "The Party's Here" on another. While the kids arrived, I had printed SpongeBob coloring pages, placemats and trivia games from nickjr.com. I had crayons and SpongeBob pencils on the tables for the kids to use. I also had some SpongeBob puzzles for them to play with. For games & activities, I printed out the pin the bowtie on SpongeBob game from nickjr.com. I numbered each bowtie and each child got a number. Second, I had purchased foam frames from the local craft store along with foam SpongeBob characters. Each child got a frame and decorated however they desired. I then took a picture of each child by the underwater scene with SpongeBob which they received with their thank you. The last game we played was a treasure hunt. Since my son does not like pinatas, I filled each child's goodie bag with SpongeBob stickers, a ball, bubbles, tatooes and a maze all from the party store along with SpongeBob Krabby patties (miniature gummy candy); candy necklaces, bracelets, rings and chocolate gold coins as treasure and SpongeBob fruit snacks. I put the goodie bags in a treasure box and hid before the party started. I placed 5 clues around the yard and read the clues as they found them. Each goodie bag had their names on it so it was easy to distribute. For food, I made a Krusty Krab sign by the grill and had Krabby Patties (hamburgers) and Plankton Dogs (hotdogs) along with all the barbeque type items. For dessert, I had ordered a SpongeBob cake. I had served ice cream and his aunt made "Sand" which consists layes of Vanilla pudding, Cool Whip and Vanilla Wafers all displayed in a sand bucket. It was a fantastic party. Each child had a great time but most of all the birthday boy had the best time. It was so fun planning for this party.
