For my grandchildren's birthday, Kayla 3 and Keion 4, we had a Spongebob party.
I printed the invitations from nickjr.com. As the guests arrived they were greeted by a handmade sign on the door the said, "Welcome to Bikini Bottom". Each child was given a Spongebob bracelet, printed from nickjr.com and a stamp on their hand.(Squidward or Patrick) The children proceeded to the basement where they watched a Spongebob video. On the tables were clear bowls filled with whale crackers. For decorations I made jelly fish out of pink ballons and pink curling ribbon. They were hung from the underside of the deck along with the characters-Spongebob, Sandy and Patrick that I purchased from a local card store. From Wal Mart I purchased a Spongebob beach towel and hung it on the fence. Around the kitchen table I attached a grass skirt and covered the top with a blue plastic tablecloth. I ordered the cake from Mars supermarket and it went in the center of the table. It was a beautiful cake. The paper goods consisted of green plates, yellow cups, pink plastic cutlery and Spongebob napkins. I also decorated the table with Spongebob confetti, from the party store and shells from the dollar store. Another decoration was Spongebob's house made out of a fresh pineapple. I made the door and windows out of blue construction paper and the chimney out of a straw. I placed it on a turkey platter that was lined with sand and sea shells. On each side of the platter I put a sea shell candle bought from the dollar store. Outside in the backyard I had four activities set up. #1-Sponge painting on construction paper #2-Coloring table: printed coloring pages(5 different ones) printed from nickjr.com #3-Pin the Pants on Spongebob(nickjr.com) #4-Octopus Ring Toss(purchased from Oriental Trading) For prizes I had a treasure chest(OT) filled with goodies. I gave each child a lunch bag and wrote their name on it. After they completed an activity they could pick a prize from the chest. They loved this. When it was time to eat I served Krabby Patties(White Castle cheeseburgers), pasta salad made with shell shaped pasta, chips and blue juices(huggies). They ate cake and ice cream(Dixie cups). Before the children left I took each one's picture next to a huge stuffed Spongebob that I borrowed from a friend. I sent the pictures to them after they were developed. At the end of the party each child received a Spongebob coloring book that I put together and a goodie bag. In the goodie bag was a lollipop, bubbles, a box of crayons, Spongebob cheez-its, Spongebob fruit snacks, a growing sea life creature and fish sunglasses(OT) and fish stickers($1.00 store). The lollipops and bubbles also came from the dollar store and I added Spongebob stickers to them. Kayla and Keion had a wonderful day and so did the adults.
