We are having a Spongebob Sqaurepants party for my 6 year old son. We had to plan in a hurry, because his party is the weekend following Easter, BUT it can be done!  For the cake I'm making a half sheet cake frosted with chocolate icing. A hollowed out pineapple and a spongebob will sit on top and I bought some aqaurium plants for an added touch. The perfect Spongbob cake with very little time needed! I'm also making blue jello in clear cups with gummi fish in side. We are having the party at a location that doesn't allow for keeping ice cream cold.  Kids know by now I go all out for games, but this year my budget is a little tight, but I managed to come up with some great ideas.  I bought bags of yellow sponges for 1.00 and we are making sponge bobs.  I bought a poster and made a red tie, for pin the tie on spongebob.  An easy and quick way to make a party favorite. We have butterfly nets from the dollar store and small pink balloons. The adults will throw the ballons in the air and the kids will catch the "jellyfish". Each jellyfish has a number on it. We have green jelly beans in a bowl for guess the plankton.  A spongebob ball for "hot potato".  I bought blue balloons for a pop the bubble balloon relay.  Instead of giving prizes for the winners of the games we are trying something different. We are having a Chinese Auction. I bought small prizes.  When the kids arrive they will each receive 10 tickets. The winners of each game will receive extra tickets for the drawing. The jellyfish numbers are for extra tickets. They get the number of tickets for the number on the jellyfish. I have pieces of sponge in a bag for them to draw out with numbers for tickets. And the birthday plates have pictures of spongebob and his pals glued on them and whoever gets those plates get tickets. So lots of ways for the kids to earn tickets for the auction.  Treat bags are simple. Bubbles, with spongebob stickers on them, Cheese Nips now makes an individual serving size in spongebob packages.  And some candy from the dollar store, they will have their characters they made to take home too.  I think that about covers it. I'm not doing tons of decorations. I figure it's the games the kids enjoy more than anything.  Good luck and have a blast!
