Spongebob Birthday, 3yr old  My daughter's birthday party was a tremendous success at a low price. Everything I bought was from the Wishing Well (a discounted party store), downloaded online, or the dollar store. First, I downloaded invitations, and thank you cards from nickjr.com. Free! Next, I downloaded pictures of the Spongebob cast and created a word document with a cute font that said "Welcome to Bikini Bottom". I put this on our front door. Then, I printed a picture of Mr. Krabbs, and a note that said "Welcome to the Krusty Krab, under him I wrote a menu of Crabatizers: Spongebob cheezeits, goldfish, and a cup of seafish Jell-O. The Jell-O was made with blue Jell-O & gummi fish in the middle, very easy & cheap. The Maine Lobster Course: Krabby Patties, (White castle mini burgers in the frozen food section), Cod Dogs (Hot Dogs), and Seanut Butter & Jellyfish sandwiches. Sandy Sweets: (Dessert) was Krabby cake & Ice cream. I took a package of Twinkies, coated them with green frosting, and made 10 Plankton's that I placed around the cakefor fun. It was so cute to hear the little ones recognize him! I used black pipe cleaners for his arms & antennas. My mom & I made the Spongebob cake, very simple; you can get the recipe from Nickjr.com. The bakery wanted $50 for a cake; we did it for $10. I also printed out pictures of the cast, and taped them to the jelly, and serving bowls for added (and free) décor. As people arrived, they entered through a series of long streaming blue metallic strings hanging in the doorway. In the room where we held the party, I had 24 royal blue helium balloons with blue metallic string, all different lengths. At the end of each string, I tied a regular light blue balloon to simulate bubbles. I took thin white string and tied it to the corners of the ceiling so it formed several 'X's, and I draped crepe paper from them, the room looked amazing! I also found green crepe paper that is fringed, and I hung that around to look like seaweed. On the sliding glass doors that led outside, I drew fish, seaweed, and bubbles with dry ease markers that I borrowed from work. Each child received a goodie bag filled with Spongebob toys, stickers, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk. I placed all of the goodie bags in a fish net that I got at the wishing well, and to receive it they had to sing, or act like their favorite Spongebob Character. Very funny to see 3-yr olds imitate Spongebob! Outside, I had a bubble machine that I placed on the top of our patio's overhang (trellis), this was a hit because the bubbles floated down and out into the yard.  Fortunately for this party, our back yard is a regulation sand volleyball court. (The house was originally owned by beach volleyball pro.) So, that worked perfect for the theme. I had several beach towels, and sand toys that I purchased at the $1 store…which would work if you don't happen to have a backyard full of sand. =)   We turned the hose on, as well as a mist hose (home depot), so the kids & adults could keep cool & the kids built sand castles. We also have a 3 ft-deep wading pool that the kids swam in. I bought a blue tub at wishing well and filled it with ice & cold water and juice for the kids. The adults had their beverages in the kitchen, as well as BBQ chicken & salad. I also served Blue Pepsi. This was a HUGE success,  inexpensive, and SO much fun!
