Spongebob Party. I have a 2-year old SpongeBob nut. For decorations we recreated the Krusty Crab in the front entry with fish net with lobsters, crabs and sea horses stuck in them.
We had a dangling Spongebob, Sandy and Patrick decorations as well as inflatable fish
on the ground and hanging fish from the entry way -- oh and shimmering stuff you walked through that looked like water. Once in the house, there were green, blue and yellow balloons and on the table a palm tree centerpiece. Drinks were poured from a large plastic pineapple pitcher and served in little pineapples. Games: 1. We buried plastic sea creatures in the sand box and dug them up. 2. We sponge painted. I bought white placemats and wrote each child's name with fabric paint the night before and they sponge painted to their hearts content with fabric paint and sea themed sponges. They then took these home with them. 3. We went jellyfishing. We had 8 plastic jelly fish which float and we fished them out of the kiddy pool with nature nets. This was the big hit. We continued the jellyfishing in the swimming pool. And of course no summer birthday party would be complete without water balloons. For food we had planned Krabby Patties, but being that my kids won't eat hamburgers we scrapped that for PB & J. We also planned to have starfish shaped cookies which the kids were going to decorate with colored "sand" (sugar). Being he's only 2 we had to limit the party to his attention span. He barely made it to the end he was so exhausted. It was overkill for a 2 year old, but I looked at it for a trial run for the 4 year old's party this fall. It was a terrific party and all the games and food were timed out perfectly for a 2 hour, 2 year old's birthday party.
