For my daughters 4th birthday, she insisted on SpongeBob. We had it in our backyard. The invitations were printed off of the nickjr website. I personalized it with all the information
about the party with all different color text and fonts. I also put the "Fun" song from spongebob: F is for friends that do stuff together, U is for you and me, N is for anywhere
and anytime at all down in the deep blue sea. I also put "serving plankton planks (hot dogs) and crabby patties (hamburgers) and all the fixins on it. So for the decorations: I put a
sign )which I made to look like a sponge that said "Bikini Bottom 46 steps ahead and had an arrow pointing to the backyard, this was to keep people from going to the front door since we
were all out back. Around the side of the house I had fish shapes out of different color construction paper and had spray painted cardboard an aqua blue and green and cut it out to look like
seaweed. I taped all of these around the side and to the back of the house. Just before you got to the backyard I had painted a piece of cardboard to look like wood boards and cut it
out in the shape of a wooden sign that said "welcome to bikini bottom". My backyard is wooded so around the edge of the yard I had wrapped crepe paper (different colors of blue and
aqua, and white) around the trees to look like the ocean.
In the trees I had hung Jellyfish (pink balloons that I had colored dark pink circles around them and taped pink crepe paper from them). Also I blew up clear, white and light blue balloons (bubbles), and tied fishing string to them in a long line, by accident they all got tangled up together which worked out perfectly because then I just hung the bunched up balloons from a few trees around the yard and on the deck. SpongeBob characters: I printed out pictures of all the characters then got poster board and freehanded them on the poster board. I then colored them in accordingly and cut them out. I taped a small metal stake to the back of them and stuck them all around the yard: Spongebob, Patrick, Gary, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, and alot of jellyfish. The kids loved these and so did the adults. I decorated the deck with a fishing net, parrots, pineapples, and had beach music playing. As for the food, I painted a sign on cardboard to look like a menu which had: Krabby Patties, Plankton Planks, Squidward Snacks (cheese puffs), jellyfish juice (koolade) Snail Mix (chex mix) and SpongeBobs Favorite Sponge Cake. I printed off napkin rings of the nickjr website and put a fork and spoon inside blue napkins and wrapped and glued those around them. They were so cute. The tables were covered in SB tableclothes. The goody bags were made from brown lunch bags and I just printed out different size characters and glued them on. I put SB pex, SB gum ,SB gummies, crayons, a lei, a coloring book in which I just printed off SB coloring pages off the internet and used construction paper for the covers. I punched holes and tied them with ribbon. i decorated the fronts with the same pictures that I printed off for the goody bags. To personalize the bags, I printed off goddy bag name tags of the nickjr website and just wrote each kids name on it and attached it to the bag. I didn't have any games but we did rent a moonwalk. So the kids had lots of fun jumping in that and playing on the playground. We then took pictures of each child in front of some of the characters as thank you cards. My daughter and her friends had a great time. It may sound like this was expensive but most everything I did myself with cheap cardboard, markers, a computer and a printer. At the time I was a stay at home mom and the budget was small. So I really wanted something to do and something cheap. Really it was the best birthday party! Its may and I'm already getting stuff made for the 5th birthday at the end of September. We are having a care bear party. need some new ideas if you have any
