My son's birthday party was a HUNTIN' PARTY. The INVITATIONS: Were made with camouflage scrapbook paper with "Ryan's 7 Point Birthday Party" on the front along with a picture of a deer in the middle of it.  You can either get pictures off of the internet or cut them out of old hunting catalogs or magazines. Inside it gave the important information including that the party would be at "Ryan Huntin' Lodge". DECORATIONS: I made a banner like I always do and painted "Happy 7 Ppoint Birthday Ryan" on it with a deer on it and put it on my garage door. For the table I bought camouflage fabric at Kmart and used it as a table cloth, I had old decoys I borrowed with Christmas green garland around them like they were in a "pond".  I also used empty gun shells scattered on the table.  Use brown or black plastic silverware and plates too. We did a CRAFT that was a camouflage picture frame.  I cut out assorted shapes from brown, tan, green and black fun foam and had the boys glue the pieces on a frame made of tongue depressors (my doctor gave those to me free!) On the back on the top tongue depressor I hot glued a magnet so they could display their picture on their frig! :)  As the boys were making the frame I had one boy at a time  change into my sons camouflage shirt and pants and took a picture of them with a toy rifle and holding a decoy duck or goose. (That picture was sent with their thank you card to put in the their frame....or you could use Polaroid's!) We had 3 GAMES:  The 1st game was a WET TARGET SHOOTING. You would need 2 - 2 liter plastic bottles that had a 2" circle cut out of the one side, you would need 2 feet of string and poke holes on each side of the bottle, below the cut out circle near the bottom of the bottle. You also need 2 pair of goggles, 2 quirt guns and a water bucket to refill the guns.  Then the fun begins!! Separate the kids into 2 teams.  Pick one child on the team to wear and place the clear bottle on top of their head and keep it secure with the string by tying it under their chin in a bow.  The other team mates have to use squirt guns and aim for the hole, the team that had the most water in the bottles after all the team mates had a turn won!  The child that was "targeted at" got wet, but everyone had a turn so it was no problem! Game #2 was DART TARGET PRACTICE.  I bought a cheap dart gun at Target (no pun intended!) and I made a paper "target that had circles in each other. Each circle had points.  The outer circle was worth 10 points and the inner circle was worth 50. Each child got a chance to shoot the dart gun and whoever got the most points won!  Game #3 HUNTIN' RELAY We were able to borrow 2 pair of mens hunting boots, 2 pair of mens long underwear pants and tops, 2 hunting hats and 2 hunting coats. You put the children on 2 teams. Each child has to put on all the items mentioned above and when they did they had to go "army style" on their bellys to the other side of the yard or through cones. When they got to the other side they had to  un-dress and give it to the next person. The team that was the fastest won! We also had a cake that our grocery store made up that had a plastic deer on it and outdoor scenery. My son then opened up presents and gave them a huntin' license that I made on the computer and wrapped over a HUGE candy bar. The boys loved it and it was such a different party than any of them ever attended that they were chattering to their parents about it while going to heir cars!!
