Messy game party My 10 year-old cousin enjoyed her birthday party last summer, which I helped plan out. Every kid, even females, enjoy getting messy. The ideas expressed here are for warm-weather and outdoors situations!    Invitations were simple...we alerted parents to have their kids come in their bathing suits, and to bring a change of clothes. We assured them that nothing would get stained. We played five messy games. We started out simple, and each game got messier and messier. The first game was bobbing for apples...which of course is a classic. The kids put their heads in a barrel of cold water and try to grab an apple without using their hands. The second game was an egg toss. everyone pairs up, and throws an egg back and forth to each other. Everytime a pass is complete, contestants must take a step backwards. Last team with an unbroken egg wins. The third game was a relay. contestants had to run over to a bowl of Jell-O with marshmallows in it. Without using their hands, they had to grab a marshmallow, eat it, and then tag the next player. Team that finishes first wins.  The fourth game involved balloon sitting. The balloons were filled with shave or whipped cream, and laid out on a tarp. Kids pop balloons until they are all gone. For a funny photo op, line the kids up after this game and take pics of their creamed behinds!   To wash off, the kids had a water balloon fight for the fifth game. Since you may want to clean off the cream, it was suggested that everyone use each others bottoms as targets. This party was a huge success with everyone...for a 10 year-old girl, getting messy is a blast, and is perfect for summer and other warm-climate birthdays!
