My kids and nephews are Star Wars fanatics, so my two eldest daughters hatched a plan for a two day Star Wars camp. The first day was themed the Prequel Trilogy, the second the Original
Trilogy. INVITATION: For this we sent out a home-made card with a screen-shot of Anakin and Obi-Wan's duel on Mustafar. We didn't go all cheesy on the inside, kept it simple and didn't make a
spin-off of the opening of Star Wars. DECORATIONS: For this we made the family room the main place. We used a lot of vehicles and masks on the shelves, and we had left-over stand-ups that we
placed near the front door and one pointing towards the bathroom. ACTIVITIES: For day one, we had a podrace, using these sand cars" we found at Target. They decorated them with chenille
sticks and Star Wars stickers. We raced them down a ladder and one of my daughters made awards (fastest best theme ect.) Then we did a Clone Trooper Training Course. We bought a few water
guns (the big ones think super soaker) and set up a slip n' slide a few tires to step through and then balloons covered with shaving cream. A bucket of water was placed a few feet away so the
kids could fill up and then get all the shaving cream off the balloons. Then we did an Action Figure Scavenger Hunt. The kids started at the front door (since this was a small group they
worked as one team) and found Emporor Palpatine. Under his feet was a picture of the next figure they needed to find. This went on and on until they finally found Darth Vader. This only works
because you can't find Vader without following the right path. On day 2: We made some cantina instruments out of glitter glue paper tubes cardboard boxes buttons and glue. Then we made an
ewok out of small pre-made bears found at Hobby Lobby. Using different but earthy colored felts I sewed the hoody and tunic using thing rope to tie a belt. Feathers beads strings and fur can
be put on and the Star Wars girls adore this. The guys are cool with it too but they really enjoyed the Death Star Pinata' my eldest daughter made. You can find a lot of pinata' recipes
online. We used paint to make the trench around the middle and the laser dish. We filled it with candy and broke it with a plastic lightsaber. GAMES: Inbetween activities we needed some
stalling time to set up. Among the favorites was Carbonite Freeze Tag (regular freeze tag special name) Droid Droid Jedi (think Duck Duck Goose) and Bounty Hunt (Hide and seek) COSTUMES: The
kids came in regular clothing but we did one activity where kids had to dress up as someone from a certain scene. We did Podrace Fan for the prequel day and Bounty Hunter for the original
day. We dumped our dress up box for that. PARTY SNACKS & CAKE: We fed the kids a lunch of fish sticks watermelon blue milk jell-o and wookie cookies (Star Wars Cookbook). You can make up
fancy names for them as they are too long (and I'm afraid my kids will get on to me if I spell it wrong!) The second day was all from the Star Wars Cookbook: TIE Fighter Ties Hanburgers Yoda
Soda Wampa Snow Cones and Endor Salad. FAVORS: The favors were watever the kids made. But an idea would be lightsabers (the ones that pop all the way in) though I would not encourage a battle
game. The plastic hurts and some kids go way over the top. So when you do give them out make it be at the end and with the parent's consent. HINT: Play movie clips that go along with an
activity to refresh memories and help them out with their imagination. Find the scene turn of the T.V. and when ready turn it back on hit play and stop when the scene is over!"
