Ok...first I just want to say that this website has been an amazing resource for planning parties for my kiddos. This year my six year old wanted a Star Wars party.  I searched an googled and accumulated tons of ideas to add to my own. Invites: I bought a package of plain black invitations from Micheals that includes the envelopes-15 for like $6.99. I printed on mailing labels in Star Jedi font (free download), using Star Wars lingo-Invited you are-in a galaxy near you-May the force be with you etc. I attached the labels to the front and inside of the folded card and decorated with Stickers from Party City. They were really great, personal and easy! Decorations: very simple-black streamers and star wars streamers drapped along the outside of the Porch and a large poster behind the food table with a black table cloth and blue plates and cups (yoda plates for the cake). I made signs with silver posters labeling the Jedi Training course. Costumes: as each guest arrived, they recieved their Jedi uniform made out of brown felt that was a simple vest with a rope tied aroung the waist. They also created their own Jedi identity and Name by face painting and name tags. Then they received their light sabers made out of pool noodles and black and gray duct tape (These were a winner)Next we ate Padme's Pizza" and "Darth Malts" (strawberry Soda and Vanilla icecream). Once everyone ate we started with the games. First it was "Destroy the Death Star"-we divided the group into 2 teams that remained together for all of the games. Then we drew 2 death stars on the drive way and each team threw water balloons on the opponents star.  The first to erase the opposite star won! At the end of each game they received candy. The winning team always got double candy.  Next game was the "Astroid search"-we hid prize filled aluminum foil balls all over the yard. The team to find the most won double candy.  Once they were all found we gave everyone equal astroids to add to their goody bags. This way everyone received the same amount and no sad faces! Next was " The final dual"-we places a long piece of wood on two cinder blocks. A person from each team fought with their foam light sabers til someone lost balance and fell from the beam )warn them not to hit in the face). Everyone got to dual and the team with the most remaining on the beam won double candy.  By this time we went ahead and opened gifts and ate cake. The cake was a double layer chocolate sheet cake that I made.  The bottom layer was thicker than the top layer. I cut the top layer to resemble earthquake-like ground filling he cracks with red dyed cream cheese icing to resemble lava. everything else was chocolate.  I bought the Kit topper kit from the grocery store. Favors included Star wars Pez dispensers pencils glow bracelets and candy.  We are also sending Thank You cards to each guest and including a Jedi Training Certificate that we made on the computer.  The kids LOVED this party...and it went really smooth.  I didnt try to cram too much in so that they could play in between each game! It was a complete success!"
