My son wanted a Star Wars party for his seventh birthday.  He also wanted to incorporate the Star Wars Lego characters as well as the traditional ones. I bought him a Star Wars lego t-shirt to wear to his party. He had a Star Wars party a couple of years ago and did not want to reuse the latest version of Star Wars party supplies (Episode III) so I found some blue and white table cloths on EBay featuring the Star Wars title" and the outline of characters fighting with lightsabers.  I also found some cake plates with Darth Vader and ships and beverage napkins with ships (main color also blue and white).  Since we were having hotdogs I purchased more substantial blue plastic plates and cups for the meal and they matched well with the other items.  He decided on the large Vader and Jango Fett balloons to greet guests at the door and beside the food table. My son really enjoyed naming all of the food star wars names. We made labels for all of the food with index cards folded in half. My son has the complete set of the Star Wars Burger King toys and they made the perfect item to put with each corresponding food label. The menu consisted of grilled "Galactic Hot Dogs" homemade "Battleship Baked Beans" and "Cantina Chili" "Sith Salad"(similar to pasta salad but with corn served chilled) "Yoda Soda" "Jedi Juice" (fruit punch) "Boba Fett Chips" "Wookie Cookies" (chocolate chip and sugar) "Chocolate Chewbaccas" (chocolate suckers that I made with a candy mold) "Dark Side Treats" (chocolate Darth Vader suckers also made with candy mold) "Pretzel Lightsabers" (pretzel rods I dipped in blue candy and topped with blue edible glitter aluminum foil on bottom for handle) "Anakin ice-cream" and "Skywalker Cake".  For the cake he requested that I make it in the shape of Lego Anakin.  My son drew an adorable picture for my guide. I baked two 1/2 sheet cakes (French Vanilla Pound Cake) and my husband helped me cut the pieces and place together to form the large Lego man.  I made and colored buttercream icing and decorating was fairly simple since Legos are pretty basic.  Of course he held one of the pretzel lightsabers! These were probably my favorite.  I placed each lightsaber pretzel in a clear treat bag from Hobby Lobby and tied it closed with blue ribbon. I placed the lightsabers into a red basket and used as the centerpiece on our main table. A few friendly Star Wars characters stood by the name card and a talking Yoda toy also served as decoration. After food and gifts I had a foam "lightsaber" for each child instead of the traditional treat bags.  I found foam swords at a Dollar General and cut off one piece of the handle so that it looked truely like a lightsaber instead of traditional sword. This was a big hit with the kids! Instead of party games the kids played in the backyard and on the swingset and also played my sons Star Wars Lego video game after food and gifts. My son said it was his best party ever and it was at home for a change and also budget friendly! "
