My son is having a Star Wars party for his 6th birthday. It is going to be a slumber party with 4 boys.
I got the idea for the invitations from a website (not sure which one) but we wrote In a galaxy not so far away in the year 2001 a baby boy was born. In the years that followed the Jedi recognized he was one with the force...." It described how the jedi council is in trouble and how my son was asked to seek out future jedi and requested the child's attendance at an overnight jedi training camp. We did it in the font like the beginning of the movies. I also put some silver star confetti in the envelopes and decorated them with clip art from the star wars kids website. We are going to cover the windows in my son's room with black garbage bags to block out light and decorate the room with lots of glow in the dark stars and planets. Then we will give the kids glow sticks (i.e. light sabers). The kids will also receive the brown jedi tunics to wear made from brown fabric with the V's cut out. I like the moon rock idea with the glow in the dark balloons as well. We got silver blue & red balloons and black crepe paper. For goody bags we are giving out glow sticks & stars pop rocks star wars tatoos & tiny rocket ships. We will also have an asteroid hunt with aluminum foil balls filled with candy. The cake will have a darth vader figure with "sparkler" candles. Since it is a slumber party we plan to watch a star wars movie before bed. and to finish we have a real live clone trooper commander visiting the kids and handing out jedi certificates!"
