Star Wars 3 Sleepover Party 9 year old For my sons 9th birthday we made our own invitations that said "Fun, we'll be having lots of.." with a star wars picture. Then on one side of
the inside "Swimming, jedi training, and watching the star wars marathon of movies" on the other "Once a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, a young jedi (Name) was born
with the hope he would bring balance to the force. Come with us to celebrate and to defend the Galaxy from the evil sith." We included date, time etc. we decorated our house with black,
green, and blue streamers and ballons. On the day of the party we began by having a craft table set up where I help the boys made "light sabers" These were small pipe insulation
tubes I cut to 2 ft in length, covered in green or blue and then inserted into a 1" coupler that snuggly fit into a 1' piece (I also cut) of tube used for a sprinkler system. I then used
duct tape to secure the insulation tube(saber) to the sprinkler pipe (handle). You should write each Jedi's name on the duct tape part of the handle so they can keep track of it. Everything
was really easy to find at our hardware store. The guys there thought it was fun to help us come up with this idea and it was very inexpesive. Next I divided the kids up into 4 groups and had
the complete their "jedi trials" some took their light sabers and jumped on our trampoline - one at a time (but you could do this without and have them practice somersalts,
kartwheels etc on the grass too) Another group built lego ships (with a bunch of left over legos) Be prepared to hand out an award for each one. Smallest and Fastest, Biggest, Most Realistic,
Most Futuristic, etc.. Another area we had a little robot that shot out little foam disc and each boy would get a turn using his light saber to block it. It was so hot that day we also had a
group playing the Star Wars lego game on the playstation. After everyone rotated through these games we went swimming and had "pod Races" with lots of different floats. Pizza, fruit
and drinks then back to have cake and presents. While my son was opening gifts I always have 2 chairs up front and the kids sit on the floor. As each gift is opened the gift giver gets to sit
in the chair next to the b-day boy and I snap a quick picture -which is then the thank you later :)-The kids always have a great time doing this. After cake we watch the movie(s) and bed. In
the morning we let them chose which things they wanted to do again and sent them off home :)
