STAR WARS REVENGE OF THE SITH (9 year old) Our son is a HUGE Star Wars fan so we were thrilled to find out that the movie opened 2 days before his birthday. The party was held at the movie theater in the party room. For invitations, I cut out a Storm Trooper from one of the many Star Wars books we have. I scanned the Storm Trooper and copied it off on cardstock paper. I also downloaded a movie poster from starwars.com and printed it on cardstock. On one side of the invite was the movie poster copy. The other side read "ATTENTION STORM TROOPERS: REPORT TO SEE STAR WARS III TO CELEBRATE CHANCE'S 9TH BIRTHDAY" followed by the date, time, & location. On the bottom left I glued on the clone that I cut out and used a pop-up glue dot to make it look 3-D. I ordered clear envelopes from www.clearenvelopes.com so both sides of the invite could be seen and used white lables to address. For decorations, I used $1 black table covers and sprinkled with silver table confetti. I hung Star Wars pictures on the walls at the theater and used some of our Star Wars spaceships and action figures to place on the tables. I bought the Star Wars napkins but used solid black plates & bowls(I have found that only buying the character napkins saves a ton of money). For food we had "Sith Ice Cream Sundaes." On the table I had all of the fixings with different place cards reading "CHEWBACCA'S CHERRIES", "C3PO'S STRAWBERRY SYRUP", "DARTH VADAR'S CHOCOLATE SYRUP", "SITH SKITTLES", "JEDI M&M MIX", "THE DARK SIDE M&M MIX", & "YODA'S YUMMY SPRINKLES." I scooped the vanilla ice cream and the boys built their own sundaes. I made Star Wars cupcakes (as my son requested) with blue or red icing and bought Star Wars cupcake rings off of an EBAY cake store to put on top of them. After cupcakes & presents, we played "Star Wars Trivia" as we waited for the movie to begin. Many of the parents had trivia about Star Wars! On our way into the movie theater, I gave each child a glow in the dark necklace to wear. The boys thought these were cool and it helped US keep track of our guests. I took a group picture before the movie began. The theater party package included a drink, popcorn, & treat. For party favors, I bought solid black koozies from Walmart for .97 cents. I placed a Star Wars sticker on the front of it and filled the koozie with red and yellow shredz, a Star Wars movie collector card pack, red & blue Pixie Sticks (to resemble light sabers), and bubble gum. The boys loved their party favors and going home with the glow in he dark necklace. I made thank you postcards with the group picture I took and printed on the bottom of the picture "May the Force be with you." On the opposite side was the address and a thank you note from Chance. The party was a BLAST and the kids are loved it!
