This was a star wars party for my son's 4th birthday. We didn't relly have much in the way of snacks since the party was right after lunch.
Invitations - The invitations were made using a vintage" 1980s cardboard yoda mask. I traced the mask onto green paper drew yoda's face on the front of each with holes for eyes and wrote the party details on the back. Party Favors - I made light sabers out of pool noodles cutting the full size noodle in half and making a handle out of duct tape and electrical tape. I also got some silver balloons that they could use as light saber trainers at home with their light sabers. And I found some planet "magic towels" and glow bracelets at the dollar store. Activities - The light sabers were one of the party favors that they earned during the Jedi Training Course. My vision was to have all the kids sit and watch some of Star Wars: A New Hope while the guests were arriving but the kids were too excited. Once outside they all went through the Jedi Trainging Course hitting balls off boxes with the light sabers. We hung up small wiffle balls from the patio cover so it was like the training orb. Then they had to crawl through a tent throw balls at a stormtrooper helmet and go through bubbles made by one of those auto bubble machines. All the kids ended up in the front yard at the homemade Death Star Pinata. I made the pinata using a punching baloon (since it is more round) flour/water paste and newspaper. Once it was dry I spray painted it grey and drew on some detail for the laser and the center trench and filled it with mini Milky Ways. Each kid got a turn hitting the pinata with their pool noodle so they could all have a turn. Then they got turns with the big stick. They gathered up the candy to add to their treat bags after it broke. I think the kids favority activity was just playing with their light sabers and going through the training course. Cake - My son wanted the Millenium Falcon. Luckily it is mostly round so I made that using 2 12" round layers. The main body of the ship is one of the layers and the other pieces that come off the front and the cockpit were cut out of the other one. Frosted mainly with with grey frosting with blue in the back for the engine and some orange and black details. I also took a few pieces off the MF toy to finish it off."
