Star Wars Party We did this for my son's eighth birthday party and it was fabulous. First we made chocolate light sabers. We did this by getting cigar candy molds from a candy store. My
husband and I melted some different colored chocolate beforehand, and the boys spooned in the chocolate into their molds. When they dried, we put some tin foil on the tips, like a handle, and
called it a chocolate light saber. We played "Pass Death Star" - like hot potato, except we used a ball that had balls inside so it looked like an exploding space station (if you
used your imagination) and used the music from Star Wars. We also had a "pod race" - we did this by using old heavy suitcases with wheels on them. We divided the kids into two
teams, and each team divided into pairs. One person led the "pod racer" and the other person rode on the suitcase. They switched places before coming back. You need a nice big room
with a smooth floor to do this, and be careful, because the kids get really into this and can fall off the suitcases! We had a light saber hunt also. I was able to find glow bracelets at a
dollar store (the ones that glow if you crack them), and if you leave the bracelets open, they look like light sabers. I connected two together to make a double light saber, like Darth
Maul's, and the person who found that one received a prize. Everyone took home the glow bracelets AKA light sabers as party favors. For decorations, we hung up my son's many Star Wars models,
and we bought Star Wars party favors for the goodie bags.
