This involved a bit of planning...
The Theme was closely related to part in Episode V (Empire Strikes Back) where Luke trains with Yoda. -We made Jedi Robes for all 13 participants plus Daddy-Wan-Kenobi (yours truly). -Cake instructions at bakery (Publix) was to make a swamp only. We added an X-wing fighter, crashed into it. -Found a Lightsaber game (Tiger Electronics) that used Wii-like movements to fight various characters. -Built a Water balloon catapult, found on internet to fling at Jar-Jar Cutout. -Created an obstacle course utilizing rented inflatable, our playground (added a toxic waste ropeswing) plus nerf blaster to shoot Stormtrooper cutout. -Deathstar pinata was made by converting a baseball pinata and replacing old lightsaber blade w/ painted PVC pipe. -Made official Jedi Training Certificate and Star Wars Goodie Bags. ACTIVITY #1 Big Screen Light Saber fight Fight Darth Maul (leave Robes with Names inside in basement) ACTIVITY #2 Gungan Water Balloon Battle- Catapults used to hit Jar-Jar in the Cul-De Sac, launched from the top of the front yard. ACTIVITY #3 Jedi Training Obstacle Course (with Yoda on their back); go thru inflatable obstacle course, go up mini climb wall, shoot Stormtrooper with Blaster , slide down, robe swing over the yucky pool. ACTIVITY #4 Death Star Pinata - Benjamin first, then winners of previous events. ACTIVITY #5 Cake ( need Dagobah battle kit) ACTIVITY #6 Award Certificates in Basement , goodie bags, place robes on , group picture. Need: Music (get Star Wars Soundtrack from iTunes) Robes 13 plus adult Obi-Wan outfit Life-Sized Cutouts (Jar Jar, Stormtrooper) / Nerf Blaster Light saber TV Game Cake with Dagobah scene Water Balloons, Catapult ˘Iflatable Obstacle Course; Robe Swing, pool green color in it Certificates Death Star pinata, pilot helmet ,pinata filler, Reinforced Light Saber, pulley, rope Goodie Bag ˘ame Tags for Robes The kids absolutely LOVED IT! They still wear the robes whenever they get out their lightsabers.
