My Son's Birthday falls two days before Christmas so every year we try to do something special for him early in the month of Dec. We expected 25 to 30 children and about 15 to 20 adults,
we rented a hall because of the number of guests and decorated it in star wars characters that I painted on HUGE poster size paper.
I purchased premade clone wars invitations, party bags, cups & plates at a local discount store. I purchased 2 long sleeve white tees and mulitcolored sharpies to sign the birthday boy's shirts for a keepsake & encouraged funny star wars inspired phrases. Because of the wisconsin weather and a recent blizzard we had to stay indoors I made a jedi training camp that consisted of different challanges(games) We played musical chairs with star wars music, twister in a yoda says(simon says)manner, balloon pop(kids have a balloon with a rubber band tied around the ankle and try to pop others balloons, and finally pin the ears on yoda( I made a lifesize pic of yoda without ears and made 30 paper ears to pin) After each game a star wars prize was given to the winner that consisted of star wars frisbees, playdoh, and figures. I handed out goodie bags after the games so no one was bummed about not getting a prize. The bags were stuffed with star wars candy, silly straws, pencils & erasers and trinkets. Finally we had a star wars pinata filled with 5lbs of candy! For blindfolds we used darth vader helmuts. I handed out paper bags decorated with star wars stickers for the candy to be kept in. I served a huge buffet and made two cakes, one cake was yoda (I made 3 chocolate sheet cakes 9x13 and cut the body, head and ears and assembled them onto a huge cookie sheet and frosted accordingly, very easy since yoda wears a cape! I also made a 4th sheet cake and frosted it white and made it into a jedi certificate, fun! My son opened presents (lots of star wars) and the kids played until pick up time. He had such a great time and really got to be the star of the day :)
