Strawberry Shortcake Party for my 1 year old daughter. I loved Strawberry Shortcake as a child and when the new dolls were released I got my little one some of them. One of the dolls came with a 5 minute DVD and she watched it over and over and loved it. That is how I came up with the theme. I found the perfect strawberry dress and shoes for her to wear. That is how the color scheme was decided- pink and red.  I made invitations and thank you cards out of pink paper with red strawberry pictures. I made a banner that said Happy 1st Birthday Lindsey with two bright red strawberries(one on each end). I made pink candy wrappers with strawberries printed on them that read, Happy First Birthday Lindsey and on the back, Thank You For Coming to my Party! The chocolate candy bars were strawberry filled. I even made gift cards for all her gifts. Everything I printed out was accented with brush on art glitter! I had a light pink table cloth with hot pink and red strawberry cutouts (from contruction paper) glued on. And a glass vase that I painted red strawberries and vines on with glass paint from the art store. I hot glued strawberry ribbon around it and tied it in a bow and place a red strawberry in the middle (from the craft store). The vase was filled the pink and red roses the day of the party! I bought strawberry sented candles that I accented with the ribbon and fake strawberries as well(with the hot glue gun). We served a strawberry shortcake that I topped with fresh whipped cream and some of her mini dolls. We had Strawberry Shortcake videos on the TV. I found Strawberry shaped gummies to serve as well. We also put out a bowl of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. We served strawberry mint lemonade to drink and my husband cooked on the grill. I even found some strawberry shaped serving plates and glasses! I bought pink gift bags for the kids and decorated them with Strawberry Shortcake stickers. I bought a small helium tank and filled 15 pink and 15 red balloons. I put them on the chairs, walls, mailbox, ect... We decorated over top the table with pink and red streamers. I made for my daughter a strawberry crown out of craft supplies (ivy, ribbon, mini tiara comb, mini pink and red roses, fake strawberries) and used the hot glue gun with a little wire to put it all together. She only wore it for a few pictures, but I'm putting it up so when she's old enough she can play dress up with it. We had a great time and I know we and everyone who attended will remember it always!!!
