For my 4 year old sons birthday he wanted to have a Superhero party. We decided to focus on Batman, one of his favorite heroes. I couldn't find plates/napkins with just Batman on them so I
bought some that had a lot of different Superheroes (including Batman). When the kids first arrived I had each of our tables outside covered with white paper (the kind that comes on the
rolls). I had taken crayons and made squares to resemble placemats with each childs name on it. Then I set about 5-6 crayons on each square so the kids could color while they waited for all
the other kids to arrive. This was a great idea in part because the kids were younger and also because the majority of them were boys so rather then having them run all over they had a little
distraction. The first game that we played was to fly Batman's Airplane into the Batcave. We had several adults help each of the kids make paper airplanes out of black construcion paper, then
I took a 5 gallon bucket and covered it with black paper we had paper coming out of the top a little bit and a sign on it that said Batcave. The kids had to stand a ways away and try to fly
their plane into the bucket. The boys loved it (what boy doesn't like paper airplanes!) We then did a Superheroe scavneger hunt. I held the first clue which one of the older kids read, that
led them to another area in the yard where a 2nd clue was found. I had 5 clues hidden the final clue led them to our grill (not turned on!) which once opened they found the food of
Superheroes marshmallows on a stick. I took 2 large marshmallows one stacked on top of another and a popsickle stick in the end I covered these with a mixture of melted chocolate chips &
a little oil then put sprinkles on each of them. For cake I made a double layer cake wich was frosted w/ vanilla frosting and then I made the Batman logo on the top, it was very easy to make
and looked cute. For the ice cream I took muffin tins and filled each w/ a tin liner then I melted chocolate chips and "painted" the chocolate w/ a pastry brush all over the inside
and sides of the liner. I then froze these for several hours, then carefully peeled the liner off and had a nice little chocolate cup for the ice cream to go into. These were quite messy but
looked adorable. THe kids of course loved them simply because they were chocolate. For the final game of the day we played "pin the logo on Batman" my husband drew what looked like
Batman's cape on a piece of poster board and each child was given a batman logo that they had to try and center on to Batman's cape. Very fun game. For prizes I took small paper cups that
were yellow and put Batman stickers on each cup, I then took a pipecleaner and punched 2 holes in the cup and put the pipecleaner through the holes as a handle. I filled the cups w/ various
pieces of candy & batman stickers. The cups were a good size for a 4 year old to carry and something different then just a goodie bag.
