My sons Jordan,5, and Zachary,3, love Spiderman and Batman. So for their birthday party the theme was super heroes.
I made the invitations out of construction paper in the shape of Superman's logo and the bat signal. I typed the information for the party on my computer, using comic book fonts, and glued it on the back of the invitations. I turned our carport into the batcave by enclosing it in black plastic. Only the entrance was open. Each of the children came dressed as their favorite super hero. As they arrived, they each received a goodie bag that my boys had decorated with super hero stickers. Inside the bags there were spider and bat rings, candy and a medallion. I made the medallions by cutting circles out of cardboard and drawing superhero logos on them. Then I hot glued two of the same together with a ribbon so that they could wear them. This was a big hit. All of our games were themed. We had "Batman and Robin Bowling" Each child had two turns, the first was Batman the second robin, and on each of the ten pins there were villains to catch, or knock down. Next we had the "Kryptonite Toss". We had six buckets covered in tinfoil for our planets. And the "kryptonite" were ping pong balls painted a bright green. They threw the "krpytonite" into the "planets". For the finale we had the Spiderman chase. After each game they got to pick out their prize from the Spiderman bucket. Each child had a can of silly string and they chased the adults and sprayed "webs" at them. The adults and kids all had a good time. We also had themed food. It was "Mr. Freeze's Punch" (Ice Blue Raspberry Kool-Aid), "Two Face's Party dip"(chips and dip\tortilla chips and salsa), "Hobgoblins" hot dogs and of course "Superman" ice cream. It was a great party. Everyone keeps asking me what are you going to come up with for next year?
