Superhero Party For my son's 3rd birthday, we planned a superhero party. The invitations were a Batman shaped mask.
I traced a mask(that my son had) on black construction. paper, cut out the eyes, and glued yellow paper behind the eyes, and cut out the mouth and glued white paper (and I put the guest's name on the white paper, written really cool). On the back of the invitation the party information was written, and I requested that each guest wear a superhero costume (our party was is June, making it fun to wear a costume at this time of year....and getting more use of those Halloween costumes) I did let the guests know that there would be costumes provided if needed(which I purchased at consignment stores) and most had a costume of their own. To prepare for the party, I found plastic visors for a dime a piece and decopauged superhero characters to the brim of each visor ( I cut our the pictures from a comic book). I also borrowed superhero toys from friends to set up a play center that had batmobiles, spider helicopter, and a variety of superhero action figures. We also made a bat cave by putting a card table between two walls and covering the space between the walls with banner paper. The kids crawled under the card table to enter the party area. The cake was a sheet cake with superhero toys on top, and piped words: POW, KABLAM, and BAM in zig-zagged expression bubbles. For decorations, there were red, yellow, and blue streamers, balloons, plates, and superhero posters taped on the walls. (I taped superhero pictures, cut out from a comic book, on the cups.) My Husband borrowed a Batman costume and greeted the guests as they arrived! They all looked so great in their costumes! The loved crawling into the batcave and playing with the toys. We played musical chairs. After the cake and gifts, the kids got some spider string(silly string) and chased each other with it outside. Everyone (parents included) had a "Super" time.
