SURVIVOR PARTY. Perfect party for big crowd and wide age ranges. We had 15 kids between the ages 7-12. There are lots of inexpensive ideas and it made a great party. When the kids arrived we
gave them torches to decorate. (TORCHES WERE MADE FROM WOODEN SPINDLES WITH A POSTERBOARD FLAME. WE CUT A SLIT IN THE TOP OF THE SPINDLES AND SLID THE BOTTOM OF THE PAPER FLAME INTO IT). The
kids decorated their torches til all the kids arrived. We had everyone write down a tribe name and we drew two from the basket. Those were the tribe names and the people who wrote them were
the two team captains each with a different colored buff. They then picked buffs. (BUFFS WERE JUST STRIPS OF MATERIAL LONG ENOUGH TO TIE AROUND THEIR ARMS OR WAIST ETC) We put these in a deep
basket and had them draw it out. We played several activities so I will list some here.We also gave tree mail out to both tribes describing each game before we played it just to see if they
could figure it out. \*\*\*STUMP STAND\*\*\*We put the kids on stumps in the yard and the last one standing won. They could only stand on one leg and not touch anything else while they were
there.\*\*\*PLATE BREAK\*\*\*We wrote the kids names on a styrofoam plate in crayon. We then hung them with string from a clothesline and the kids threw rocks at them. If they hit a plate
that person whose plate they hit was out. \*\*\*BAMBOO THROW\*\*\*I made a bullseye target in the yard with babypowder. They threw bamboo sticks scoring points for their team. \*\*\*EATING
CONTEST...a favorite!\*\*\*I got abunch of paper plates and put food on them like salad spinach, cake icing, peanut butter, tuna, rice, chocolate syrup, etc. I then taped another plate on top
and numbered them (so they didnt know what they were_). The teams picked numbers out of the basket and had to race to eat whatever item they uncovered. They had to do it with no hands,
silverware, etc just the plate and tongue. All the winners of their teams then got to race for grand champion by eating a bunch of whipped cream and at the bottom was a piece of gum. THey
then had to blow a bubble first to win. \*\*\*BOX PUZZLE...We had 12 big boxes (just ask at the grocery store). We put them together in a square shape and drew two big circles with two
different colors that went through all 6 boxes. (one set of six boxes had an orange and black circle the other had a yellow and purple circle) We then hid the boxes all over the yard and told
the teams to get all six boxes bring them back to circles (drawn in the lawn with powder) and get their designs together first. Make sure you tell each team which colors their team is looking
for on the boxes. \*\*\*EGG IN SPOON RELAY\*\*\*TIKI GOD PINATA\*\*\*TEETER TOTTER GAME\*\*\*We put two 2X4's together and made them in to a teeter totter (we made one for each team) and put
them on a stump. We put a clothes basket at the end. They would jump on one end trying to get a beanie baby to fly up into the basket. \*\*\* We had little prizes to coax them off the whole
day as well. Like trying to get them to get off the stump for a giant hershey kiss, etc. We had pizza, doritos, sierra mist and cake for snacks. THe kids got to take home their torches, bags
of candy from the pinata, a little bag of doritos and a wooden/resin tiki guy we got from a local discount store. They had a lot of fun and it was a great party for all ages.
