10th birthday for my son, last year for his 9th we had a survivor party which I sent in, this year we had Survivor 2 - Esplanade, we had new challengers 4 all up and 24 kids, so 2 teams, teams
were chosen by pulling out marbles from a bag, clear you were in Avengers and white you were in Warriors, I brought cheap t-shirts in two different colours and I then designed my own logo to
go on the front and had the team's name on back, (each child got to keep his t-shirt as this was in placeof a take home bag. After we were in our teams, they each took their flag and headed
off to their camps, we had 1 team in the front yard and one in the back. After they set up, their tree mail was delivered, explaining their task, (tree mail was giving for each task)
challenge 1: they had to choose a leader, it had to be someone who was good at leading, they sat up on a ladder, the rest of the team was paired together tired at together at their ankles,
and blind folded, we explained that we had hidden 7 large wooden pieces placed around the park (just down from our house), 1 pair at time had to lisen to their leader who directed them to a
piece and back to their mat where the next lot went out, once all the pieces were back they were allowed to take off their blind folds, and start putting their puzzle together, they were told
it was square and that was all the help they got, the quickest team wins and were giving the idol and a basket of party food and when they got back to their camp got a can of soft drink, the
losers got a small bag of dry crackers and water cordial. they stayed at camp till the next challenge which was: challenge 2 my husband made a giant sling shot and the teams had a go of
shooting out water and paint balloon bombs, which the team that was not shooting had to catch them, this was a big hit and we had a lot of laughter and screams of when they got wet. The team
who caught the most won the idol and party food if you had not already won some ( so the loseres of challenge 1 got the food).
They then had to make their way back to their camp and come up with a theme song, we gave them 10 minutes, they were called to the carport to sing their song then we had the BBQ tea, and birthday cake and the kids got to play together till our 3rd challenge. Challenge 3:Teams had to pick 3 thinkers who were made to stay at the house, while the rest made their way back to the park, where they were asked to pair up again and on go one pair at time had to find a bag which was tired up to trees etc and their 5 bags all up, once all the bags were found they had to get them back to the house and give them to three that were left behind to work out what the words were then out them in to a sentence the only hit was that the bags were numbered, and it was a popular message: Survivor Challenge outwit outplay and out last, again the quickest team to finish and have the sentence right won the idol. we had about 15minute break then the last challenge began which was a eating challenge, we got a empty cable reel and made it in to a lazy susen, and kids had to spin it to see what they had to eat they had to race the oppisite team to show a empty mouth, the food was, dry weetbix, marshmellow and tomato sauce, smarties and chocolate topping, tuna, whipped cream and sprinkels, chocolate pudding and corn, beetroot juice and the last item was vegetable juice, this was a lot of fun and the kids done well they all had a go at eating and most got it down. Again we had a ball we now have to plan for the next one.
