My Daughter recently celebrated her 16th Birthday and I wanted it to be really special. We Planned a "Masquerade Ball". I made invitations with my computer and rubber stamps they
included a mask to get started. The Guests were invited to wear a costume appropriate for a masquerade ball and required to wear a mask. Many of the guests made elaborate masks and we had a
mask contest. The Guests included all girls and a few special 'cool' moms. We purchased tickets for Sears Cosmetics Spring Gala (which was the same night). All the guests met at our home and
then we escorted them to Sears where they were all treated to Gift bags and free make-overs, everyone received lots of perfume and make-up samples. At 8pm everyone headed back to our home for
cake, Kareoke and contests. We had made Beauty-pagent-sashes for each girl for winning various contests (like best song, best singer, funniest song, best mask, best costume, most mysterious).
The sashes had labels like Miss Songbird, Miss Mystery, Miss Gab-a-lot, Miss Creative. We had a regular cake with lots of pink and purple roses. The most special thing about the Party is that
I hand embellished a very special Gown for my daughter. She dreamed up the dress and I made it. Her Aunt took her for a special up-do prior to the party adn with the make-up from the Shisedo
counter at Sears she was princess for a day. The girls rounded out the evening by dancing and opening gifts. For Food we had the regular party fair.To remember the occasion we took tons of
photos and my daughter made a scrapbook. Even looking for Sweet Sixteen stickers was fun. What a night to remember.
