SIMPLY PINK TEA PARTY - 6 yr. old.
As the name suggests, EVERYTHING WAS PINK! I rubberstamped 12 pink tea-theme invitations and suggested that everyone come, "dressed in the pink!" DECORATIONS: Since my daughter's birthday is only a few weeks after Easter, I saved ALL the pink foil wrapped candies from the bags to use for her upcoming birthday party. They looked very pretty in pink bowls on the table. Pink streamers, balloons, bows and lacey tablecloths were used to decorate the room. FOOD IDEAS: Pink lemonade in individual ceramic white $1.-store teapots with sugar cubes (served in punch glasses tied with a pink bow--picked up at a thrift store for 5 cents each!). Cookies with pink jimmies and pink sugars (girls can even decorate them!). I melted a tub of ice cream and dyed it pink with food coloring. All pink birthday sheet cake with pink chocolate flowers. ACTIVITY & CRAFT IDEAS: Each child was given a 'kit' for all the crafts we'd do. First, they'd decorate pink cardstock to make a "friendship" tea card to give to another girl at the party as they got "out" in musical chairs. Then make a keychain using pink beads and a tea pot button at the end. Also, musical chairs using a giant pink beachball. (Read a book about a tea party or do pink lipstick and nail polish for each girl, if you need something to fill extra time.) GOODIE BAG CONTENTS: Local $1. store had "teapot" theme diaries. Pink deckle edge scissors (used in making cards). Their white teapot and punch glass. Pink chocolates. Pink gel pen. Teapot stickers. MUSIC: Jazz or something upbeat without words was best.
