I contacted "Teacups & Friends", a local company serving the greater-Austin area, to host my niece's 6th birthday party. They provided us with a complete tea party package.  The invitations were pink with little Victorian teacups and matching envelopes.  On the day of the party, they came to our home and brought vintage dress-up clothes for all the children to wear, including dresses, hats, feather boas, jewelry and gloves.  Once all the children were dressed, they had a fashion show and each guest received a Polaroid photo to take home.  Then the girls decorated handheld vanity mirrors with sequins, jewels and beads as party favors. After the craft activity, the girls were taken into our living room, which had been transformed into an elegant fantasy tea room.  Teacups & Friends brought in child-sized tables and chairs decorated with fabric slip covers in a variety of prints and solid colors, as well as linen tablecloths, lace table covers, and floral centerpieces for each table.  They served an assortment of heart-shaped peanut butter & jelly finger sandwiches, fruit, cookies and pink lemonade (for tea) using china plates and child-sized teacups.  The birthday cake was shaped like a teapot, decorated with light pink icing and lots of sugar flowers. After the presents were opened, the children played musical chairs and each guest received the "winning" prize.  The party lasted about two hours, but the best part of all was that Teacups & Friends sent Thank You Notes to all the guests.  All-in-all, a wonderful party that my niece will cherish forever.
