For my daughters 5th birthday we had a tea party with a fashion show as the main entertainment.  The invitation read: Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Please come join Cassidy for tea! We'll have sugar & spice and everything nice, there will be food galore & pink lemonade with ice.  A pretty dress will await for that special girl on this special date. (the date next) Six is the time, so please be here, we'll have a good time & a birthday cheer! After this I put the address and the RSVP phone number.  When the girls arrived I had my daughters dress up clothes all laid out with accesories so as they arrived they choose their special dress. (I did borrow some things from friends) My daughter had gotten a special dress and shoes for this occasion that she had already chosen to wear.  As they picked their dresses and put them on, I had some family and friends there to assist with makeup, hair and fingernails. When they were through dressing we sat them at a formal table with fresh flower arrangements and a bell to ring as they needed their servers. They had finger sandwiches, chips, pizza bagels, lemonade and tea.  After they ate we had the birthday cake which was the Barbie 3D birthday cake and opened presents. After the presents we started the fashion show with them in their dresses. I had someone on our karaoke machine and introduce each girl and tell their parents and a brief description of the outfit they were wearing. I had runway made so they had to walk down a hall onto the "stage" which was in my living room. In the background I had music softly playing with songs like "She's a Beauty". After all the girls had come out I had them go back to the dressing area (master bedroom) and then we called each one back out and they were presented a crown, a banner that suited each personality, and a small bouquet of (about five daisies etc.) fresh flowers with pink ribbons tied around them. The banners that I gave them were wide pink ribbon with silver stick on letters on them. The crowns were cheap silver crowns I had found around Halloween time. The sashes had different names on them - Ms. Blue Eyes, Ms. Brown Eyes, Ms. Talkative, Ms. Petite, Ms. Personality, Ms. Bashful, Ms. Outspoken, Ms. Mischievous, Ms. Manners, and for the birthday girl, Ms. Behavin!! Everything went so well, it was a great party and the pictures taken of all the girls huddled together with their makeup, hair up, gloves on, with big fluffy dresses were wonderful!!
