Teddy Bear Breakfast for a 7yr old girl This year for my daughter's 7th birthday we decided to have a breakfast party.
The invitations are a postcard style and we will make little pillow cases to use as envelopes. The invites say wear your jammies, "bed head" and bring your best friend as we gather to Celebrate Sammy's birthday. The party will be from 9:30-11:30. We will be having it in my garage since it is just one big open room. For decorations I am putting pillow cases over the backs of the chairs and hanging up stuffed animals and balloons around the room, as well as haging a giant poster board sun on the wall. When the girls first arrive I will be having them make fruit loop/cheerio necklaces for them and their stuffed animal. Then once everyone has gathered we will play the "breakfast scramble" relay. The girls will have to carry plastic plates with eggs, waffles, and bacon made from model magic to the end of the drive way (with out dropping the food from their plates, of course!) and then pass it off to a team mate until all the girls have finished. When the race is iver it will be time for breakfast...during breakfast I will have the girls leave their stuffed animals in the "bear cub's club house" ...my girls oversized wagon decorated with balloons and streamers. Breakfast will be fruit salad, yogurt, and pancakes. If I am feeling really ambitious I may make them llok like bears. Either way I will also put out chocolate chips, berries, whipped cream, etc to decorate with before they eat them. After breakfast we will do our craft. I found a place on line that sells plain tee shirts for stuffed animals for just $1.25 each and I bought a bunch of fabric markers. Each girl will be able to make a shirt for her stuffed friend. After the craft I will move everyone into the living room for gifts. I will spread out sleeping bags and pillows on the floor, so the girls have a place to lounge while gifts are being opened. After the gifts its time for birthday cake...a giant tower of donut holes stuck together with frosting. Finally we will do the pinyata, which will be filled with gummy bears, mini bears from the craft store and other breakfast/teddy bear related items. The bags that I give them to collect thier pinyata treasures in will already have a toothbrush and mini boxes of cereal as favors. I forgot to mention that our dollar store once had a bunch of pull string pinyatas in rugrats and jimmy neutron. Since neither of those ever fit the theme of my 4 daughters parties, I just peel the image off and make my own. I think for this party I will do a teddy bear eating pancakes. You can use this technique with any pinyata, so don't feel limited by what the party store has to offer. I really think this party is going to be a blast, plus it is early enough in the day that it shouldn't interrupt the rest of the days plans.
