For my daughter's second birthday, we had a teddy bear picnic. First I started by making the invitiations. I mounted red/white gingham paper on solid red cardstock. Then I glued down a die cut
teddy bear and picnic basket on the gingham. Lastly, I printed out the party details on vellum, layered it over the invitation, and attatched it with a red ribbon. All of our party wear was a
red and white checked print called picnic plaid. I also made picnic baskets for everyone who attended. I bought inexpensive, plain wicker baskets at a craft store and dressed them up by hot
glueing (I can't sew) red/white gingham fabric inside it. In each basket was each guest's lunch, including their plate, cup, nakpkin, and utencils. Also in the baskets were a small teddy bear
calander and a stuffed teddy bear. The bears I got for 1.25 a piece at Vickie's toys (online). I dressed them up by tying a red/white gingham ribbon around each of their necks. For favors, I
bought miniature picnic baskets at Micheals. They had lids, which I personalized with each childs name. I also tied a red/white gingham ribbon around these and I filled inside with red
cinnamon bears. The cake my husband and I made by cutting up a couple of 9x13 cakes and shaping a teddy bear. We frosted him with chocolate frosting and then tinted coconut brown also. We
used various candies for his eyes, nose and mouth. To top him off we also used a red/white gingham ribbon at his neck. My daughter was also dressed in a red/white gingham dress and one of our
gifts to her was a teddy bear necklace. It was all very cute!
