For my daughter's 2nd b-day, we did a teddy bear picnic.
I sent out invitations with a picture on the front of my daughter surrounded with all of her teddy bears she received over the last 2 years (there was at least 30-40 of them different shapes and sizes) Inside it asked everyone and their best teddy bear friend to join us for a picnic in the park. We decorated the picnic area with lots of balloons, with pictures of teddy bears. I laid down a red and white checkered picnic blanket down for all the teddy bear guests and their friends. I also downloaded coloring pages of different bears, and had the local copy shop turn them in to coloring books. I put those on the picnic blanket with a big bowl of crayons. Instead of party hats I made teddy bear ears out of brown chenelle stems twisted together to form headbands with brown pom poms for the ears glued to them, the girls also had pink bows on theirs. The cake was decorated with teddy bears by a tree in icing, and a plastic teddy bear on a swing. There was pin the tail on the bear, and a bear pinata. We also played the honey pot hunt (just like an easter egg hunt), which I used little plastic containers and painted them blue with yellow to create the honey pot look and put little treats inside. The food for the children were peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into teddy bears using a cookie cutter. They also played pass the present, it is a game in which they pass a package around to music, when the music stops the child that has the package unwraps one layer of wrapping paper to get a prize, then he/she steps out and the game continues, there is enough prizes for all the kids, and we played to the song "The teddy bears picnic". The party favors were a favorite. I made honey pots for all the kids, They were made from lunch bags double and rolled down, I painted them blue on the outside and yellow on the inside with yellow paint dripping over the edge(once the paint dries the pots become hard like real pots). I wrote "Honey", on one side, and the childs name on the other. I filled them with bubbles, teddy bear stickers, teddy grahams, and teddy bear lollypops and tops it with yellow shredded paper to complete the honey effect. Everybody really enjoyed themselves.
