I am having a teddy bear picnic for my 5 year old daughter. I sent invations to all the children and asked that they join us at the local park and not to forget their favorite teddy bear. I found miniature picnic baskets at the store...cut checkered cloth into squares and placed one square in each basket. Then nestled a miniature bear in each basket. Each child will take one home as a momento. I also made colorful pinwheels out of origami paper for each child to also take home. I also made extras to stick around at the party. Its out doors and I think would be more fun to watch them spin...than have balloons flying everywhere. I have a nice old fashioned picnic basket to keep the favors in. Checkered table clothes for tables and a giant one to spread on the grass for the children and their bears. Plain vanilla cupcakes with white frosting topped with a cherry.(I always remember childrens books portraying cakes in this manner)I have a recording of the song which will be played through out the party on low. Play...pin the pot to the teddy bears hand....toss the bear....bees in the honey pot as well.I also have made special bear hats for all the kids. Color you own bear puzzle...we printed the puzzle pattern out on comp. from a webpage...spray glued them to poaterboard. Each child gets a small pack of crayons to color it with...my husband and i will cut them out and place in baggies for them to take home. I hope there may be a few ideas for someone...i have had so much fun making things for this party. I cant wait for my 2nd daughters birthday...I may follow the same theme.Oh...one more thing...each child will introduce their bear friend...premade by me name tags shaped like honey pots...each bear will get one so everyone can remember their new friends names.
