Teddy Bears Picnic - 1 year  My daughters first birthday was a teddy bears picnic. I bought little stuffed bears, and tied the invitation around the bears necks. Each guest received one 2 weeks before the time and was asked to bring their teddy bears. We met at lunchtime. We had it at a local park (because our garden was too small!) We tied up balloons and streamers. I laid out quilts on the ground and all the children sat around while my daughter opened her presents. We had a square cake with green icing and a little scene with a daddy, mommy and baby bear sitting on a blanket eating picnic foods(minitures of our foods mentioned below) the mini cake had one candle in the middle. I made all these decorations from plastic icing. The side of the cake had marshmellow flowers all over. The food was mostly for adults, cheese sandwiches, sausage rolls, cupcakes (decorated with hundreds and thousands and smarties) and lots of cooldrinks. Each white paper plate had a paper serviette stapled to the underneath (because you either lose it or forget to take one!!) And the plastic disposible cups had stickers on them.  The children got little boxes with "childs name" 's PICNIC BOX written on the top. I decorated these with bear stickers. Inside were some suitable sweets, a small packet of chips, a box of fruit juice, and a blowing noisemaker.   The party was about 2 hours long and everyone enjoyed it. We went home to a clean house which was the best!
