Teddy bear picnic for 1 year old   Picking something for a one year old is hard but for this child I chose to have a teddy bear picnic party. I bought two disposable red and white checked tableclotes to cover the tables.  We wrapped our silverware in red napkins tied up with sparkle ribbon red bows we used red plates and cups and multi colored party hats. With a special one for the birthday girl.   We set up all of our teddy bears all over the house and replaced the pictures on our dining room wall with teddy bear pictures from my daughters room.(all of these items and many more were only a dollar at a dollar store).  For goodie bags we decorated brown paper lunch bags with teddy bear stickers and filled them with bubbles, teddy bear stickers, gummi bears, crazy straws, punch ballons and chocolate bears. When the kids arrived they colored teddy bear pictures printed off the internet at a small table in the living room. When everyone had arrived I turned on the song teddy bear picnic and we sat down to our picnic lunch of chicken salad sandwhiches cut out in teddy bear shapes, lemonade, chips and mini muffins. After lunch we played pin the heart on the bear, our version of hot potato only with a small stuffed bear, guess the amount of gummi bears in a decorated jar(prize is the jar) and who had a sticker on their plate. We presented our daughter with her cake that had a pooh bear candle holding a present and cake sitting on a red checked blanket with a runt candy lunch and ants marching up the side.  The cake for the guests was shaped like a teddy bear. Then we passed out goodie bags and opened gifts. Before the kids left we all took a few minutes to unwind by sitting in a circle and quietly listen to the teddy bear song. Using our own decorations, making our own cake and lunches and by shopping cheaply this party only cost $40.
