My daughter was turning 5 years old, which meant this was the last year I could invite all the girls in her preschool to a party. We decided on a "teddy bear" tea. I invited all the 4 and 5 year old girls from her pre-school, 9 out of 14 accepted the invitation. I made the invitations off of graphic from the internet and bought card stock to print them on a color printer. Upon arrival, I had the girls add ribbons to pre-made "wreaths" for their hair. I took a garland of flowers from our local craft store and wired it into the shape of a wreath, I let the girls pick out ribbons to add to the wreaths.  We then went up to the playroom where we put on "light" make up and glitter paint. I had ordered silver necklaces and topaz pendants off of "e-bay" and presented each girl with a necklace after make-up. As the girls exited down the steps they were treated to a fashion show and I took their picture with a Polaroid camera.  We then took the picture into another room and used them to start a memory book page. I had lots of stickers and fancy cut paper to make the page. I then added my daughter's name and the date to the page, so the girls could remember the day.  After that we had a real tea party. I bought inexpensive tea cups and saucers and had the table done with a real linen tablecloth, tulle, flowers and pink candles. I served peanut butter sandwiches, cheese straws, peanuts and meringues and pink lemonade. We then enjoyed a three layer graduated cake that I made using two cake decorating tips to produce a "wedding type" cake. Each girl had their teddy bear with them at the table. Afterwards we opened presents and took pictures, by that time the two hours was over and all went home happy. It was a very inexpensive party, and the other Mom's were so impressed with my ability to keep the girls entertained but yet provide a wonderful afternoon of fun without spending a lot of money.
